saw many cars with chrome car plates on our roads

 

quite tempted to change my stock one to those. is it legal?

Oh? I had seen many ppl kenna stopped by TP and the officer holding a compact camera taking photos of their chromed number plates.

Illegal? may be seasonal . They at most enforce once or twice during the year. Frankly, I've never been fined with a chrome plate at LTA for car inspection in my previous car. I thought car plates with irregular font types, especially those euro-type are what they are aftering for?

I believe a carplate tat uses very tiny or narrow fonts tend to catch the attention of TP more than an easy-to-read reflective types.

You are right, it will be oxidized by the road dust, shampoo and weather sooner or later.

I heard it's illegal.the color can be reflected when kena light.

I thought chrome number plates have been here for ages.

 

Last time I was in Taiwan, lagi better, chrome window film (like those double side mirror in police show)...Don't know legal or not.

Don't think it is illegal unless it is really super reflective. I've been using chrome car plate numbers for many years and also have been caught speeding for a few occasions (embarrassingly). Never been summoned or warned about my number plate.
