Byond 1st Gear April 13, 2010 Share April 13, 2010 if u looking at handling and fun at driving, this is the car worth considering AWD, very very quiet cabin, stability at high speed. The comfort level is there for driver and front passengero 11 if u are looking for a car with good pick up, good FC figures... forgo this ride this car pick up is quite slow, even if u step on the accelerator all the way, the engine will roar and still, pick up will still be slow FC wise, 10 to 11km per litre, depends on ur route.... ↡ Advertisement
Kopitehc Neutral Newbie April 13, 2010 Share April 13, 2010 Toyota never have problems about breaking down. My previous Altis 1.6 Auto almost 4 yrs, never break down, never give me problem, service centre was great. I think Axio and Allnion not as good? I'm not sure. My current 2.0 Auto runs about 8.4km / litre on Mineral Oil and Caltex 95. Currently im calcuating Mineral Oil and Caltex 98, will update the FC later. I can only change to Syn Oil when i reach my 10K So comparing Toyota Altis & Subaru, Subaru is totally diffferent feel, i have not regretted the change. Though FC is higher but I'm v happy with the car performance. When cornering fast, its great handling too. My Altis, i need to break a little when cornering. Subaru outlook design also nicer. Front Lights are nicer.
Raining Neutral Newbie April 13, 2010 Share April 13, 2010 i got 2 friends driving an auto 1.5 and manual 2.0 (non-turbo) impreza. Very very stable.. FC abt 10-12 (occasional 13 claim) for the auto and 9-11 for the manual. Both mix driving conditions.
Bandotcom Neutral Newbie April 15, 2010 Share April 15, 2010 (edited) I've just collected my 1.5 MT 4-door Impreza last week..after 4 days driving I changed my wheel set from stock 15inch to 17inch rim with 215/45 tyres. The FC increase a bit & can feel little pinch but I would like to tell that the feeling was so great, the stability & the looked of my new ride. The Boss of the tyre shop took plenty shots of photos after my wheels fixed... I always felt that I was driving a big Conti (Volvo) car. I can say that at full tank Super 98 I can clock at 550km though running-in is in progress... Edited April 15, 2010 by Bandotcom

Their vedict "don't get this car if you live in a mountain", "who need an overweight 4WD with blend interior, high FC when some 2WD could actually outperform it." . Flame the reviewer not me. They actually prefer the previous model than this current one. Regards,
Nineteen Neutral Newbie April 15, 2010 Share April 15, 2010 I was driving a GLX Lancer before i changed to the 5 Dr 2.0 RS last month. The driving experience is totally different and although im paying more for petrol and road tax, every single damn cent was worth it. Lancer felt like a point A to point B car but the impreza made me want to drive more. Pick up is not fantastic as it has a 1.3 ton weight but cornering, sound proofing, looks and stability really shines. I did not really considered the impreza but i went for a test drive and got won over. The only regret i have was not getting the WRX

Nineteen Neutral Newbie April 15, 2010 Share April 15, 2010 The old versions had the frameless window which looks better but lousier sound proofing. the 3G versions do not have frameless windows anymore and the sound proofing is much better

Beehive3783 Turbocharged April 15, 2010 Share April 15, 2010 The puny 1.5L can't pull the Impreza's weight well. My gf drives a 1.5R manual hatch.

Jp66 5th Gear April 15, 2010 Share April 15, 2010 .... but the impreza made me want to drive more. MotorImage should use "Impreza! Want To Drive More' as their marketing motto.

Bird5011 3rd Gear April 16, 2010 Share April 16, 2010 WRX is TC...so bound to be noisy.....zoom...zoomm.. No problems for me.....infact loves the boxer engine sound... If FC is the issue then don't drive Subaru ....FC is not a problem for me...just drive as normal as you and me... Only think of getting cheaper insurance... Happy driving.... Beehive3783 Turbocharged April 16, 2010 Share April 16, 2010 i think manual still acceptable la well, me and gf are quite heavy, so it's an additional strain on the car.. on the other hand, i find my 1.6L kimchi FWD car to have better pulling power compared to the 1.5R hatch.. Cantride Neutral Newbie April 16, 2010 Share April 16, 2010 Was looking at the 1.5R and my colleague driving one told me his is auto and pick up is really very slow and sometimes very troublesome if need to pick up fast or to overtake.
