Hi Guys,

I will be collecting my 2nd hand JDM accord soon. I would like to check with you guys for the ICE at about $1,000 spending.

What are the necessary items I could install and necessary to have?

My idea is

1 set component speakers for front

1 unit 4 channels amp

1 set coaxial speaker for rear

1 sub woofer or active sub?

Can the above be done at about $1,000? Which shop and which brand for recommendation?

Sound proof needed for front doors?

For a start, i'd go for a pair of component speakers for the front, leave the rear alone, get either a 2ch or 4ch amp(for future use) for the front speakers.

Forgo an active sub cause those things are useless...if want, get a small 10" pasive sub instead, and use the 4ch amp to drive it.

for $1k, best to get everything 2nd hand..brand new 1k going to be quite hard. As for sound proofing, just do the front doors if you must.

For my concept, if wants to install ICE, install a good or average set, dont just because over budget and install low grade AMP or Speakers.

If not save a little more first, or go by installment.

In fact, you should ask which is the reliable brand for AMP or speakers.

Coaxial cables is a must.

capacitor, some people say dont need, some people say needs.

sound proofing is optional.

If you have cash, can considering buying 2nd hand item from below link

good luck.

is good to get a good HU with MP3/USB/iPod input.

For me, i am using a LCD HU, although dont have above inputs, as long as your HU got Aux in, u can purchase

1. ipod cable with charging function

2. ipod cable without charging function

i bought option 2, but then again, whenever i play my ipod, it will automatically charge. it seems like overcharge for me, my perception only.

Neutral Newbie

JDM accord? are you going to change HU? If so, meaning you intend to run your sound system via 3rd party HU through the empty DIN located beneath the JDM accord? You can go shc-forum to find out more how ICE setup are done by some JDM accordians. Be warned of potential poison other than ICE.

Btw i bot 2 amps previously and have not even have time to install for my Euro R. Might want to let go for cheap cheap price. Any takers?

[rolleyes]

Forgot to add that with MP3 and WMA playback capabilities for the HU would even be better. That way a 6 disc changer would be enuff. jUst my opinion.
