TortoiseRacer Clutched July 1, 2010 Share July 1, 2010 Thanks, pal. It's good to know about this; might be handy when the needs arise for new brakes. On a separate note, are there women who like advanced driving (ad) or track driving (td)? I know this is mainly a male arena but then who knows there is a local Vicki Butler-Henderson out there? (Vicki would be an excellent track driving coach though. She even got her mum onto the track in a Lamborghini) No...no..no, it is not another female-is-better-driver debate again Vicki's fan page is here : vb-h.net me lo.. though i haven't had an actual hand dabbling in it. think it's pretty interesting. ↡ Advertisement

Xvinx87 Neutral Newbie October 9, 2010 Share October 9, 2010 I did a race training program with these guys in the Philippines earlier this year. Global Racing Schools It was nothing like Audi or BMW driving course/experience. More catered towards circuit racing. Even though a bit pricey, learnt alot and had a good time. I think now they got training in Pasir gudang also. Guess we have to wait till CMH open up before we can start tracking in Singapore.
Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear October 9, 2010 Share October 9, 2010 Anyone knows where can I go to learn more advanced driving skills? Control car during skidding, wet road condition...etc Not sure what is the scope of BMW and Mercedes's driving courses. Anybody has attended those and what is your feedback? Else are they any other/better alternatives? Attended such session with Footwork media at Johore Circuit many years back (an eye opener). Example: not all cars suitable for hand-brake turn (Fiat Uno)

GTO-1 4th Gear September 14, 2019 Share September 14, 2019 Bringing this thread back from the dead after almost 10 years. Wondering if anyone knows of advanced driver training courses in SG? I attended BMW's advanced and intensive driver training a few years back and learned a lot and was a heap of fun. Genuinely think it helps to make one a better driver and you get to thrash cars that aren't your own. Keen to attend them again with my wife, who hasn't had any advanced training and who would benefit from them. All I can see is the BMW Malaysia courses held at Sepang (courses have already come and gone for 2019). But last time anything help for Singapore was 2017? Everything else seems long dead, eg Safra motorsports club. Surprised there isn't much advanced driver training in SG, given the number of drivers in this country that could do with a course. Optramagnum 6th Gear September 14, 2019 Share September 14, 2019 Did they teach how to use the signal lights? Haha, just joking
GTO-1 4th Gear September 14, 2019 Share September 14, 2019 5 minutes ago, Optramagnum said: Did they teach how to use the signal lights? Haha, just joking Hilariously no! But then again the it feels like 80% of SG drivers need retraining on using an indicator. In all seriousness, they teach you to actually use safety features of a car that you never use until you're in an emergency situation. So you get to "feel" it and make sure you're "doing it right". For example, no one actually utilises ABS until you have too and they showed you what the difference is when you have your seat correctly positioned and not. Basically if you have your seat poorly positioned, you won't be able to invoke ABS when you really need to. I would hazard a guess that 80% of people on the forum probably have never "felt" ABS in action because. The course I went on also taught you how to control oversteer on a skid pad (more applicable to driving on snow) and helped give you a feel of doing emergency turns (moose test). ↡ Advertisement
