Hensony Clutched March 27, 2009 Share March 27, 2009 Hi Does any bro know where I can get this adapter? Can't find them, at least not from the DIY and hardware shops I have been to. Thanks ↡ Advertisement

Hensony Clutched March 27, 2009 Author Share March 27, 2009 It's a matter of preference, and I like things integrated, wherever possible.
David Clutched March 27, 2009 Share March 27, 2009 Imagine you have a 2-pin plug jutting out from the wall socket for example especially where space is a constrain. Furthermore the mounting of the 2 pin inside this adapter is secure unlike those where you just push it in. Lastly, after you have position and secure the 2 pin inside the adapter, you closed the cover and secure it with a screw. You would not be able to pull the 2-pin plug out from the adapter because the cover would prevent that. I am using it. By chance I came across this, I bought 5. Ultramega 1st Gear March 27, 2009 Share March 27, 2009 It's a matter of preference, and I like things integrated, wherever possible. then why not just permanently cut and change the plug to 3-pin type?
Hotamp 3rd Gear March 27, 2009 Share March 27, 2009 (edited) i also 1st time seeing this. But it is good when u do want to have some plug poking outwards. lol haha, ya this is the first time i am seeing this as well, just a fancy 3 pins adapter for a 2 pin plug. manufacturer nowadays really nothing to differential their products with their competitors, fancy coming out with such adapter....must hand it to them actually if it is a space constraint, can just cut off the 2 pin plug and wired it into a 3 pin plug...the top pin is just the ground, which is unused in the adapter anyway. Pcslim Neutral Newbie March 27, 2009 Share March 27, 2009 Not sure safety wise, is this adaptor equivalent to the 3-pin plug? As far as the electrical appliance is concerned, it is still a 2-pin plug connected to a 3-pin adaptor only - without the earthing wire. Can anyone enlighten? Can anyone enlighten? ya, it is just a fancy 2 pin plug. from the pic, the earth pin(top pin) is black probably made of plastic whose function is just to lift up the plastic shield protecting the live and return socket point( where the 2 copper colour pins are inserted into), when the plug is inserted into the wall socket. yep, no safety fuse for this adapter plug.
