Demand is surely there la.... but it will kill off all the current “prestigious” plates, technically it is no longer difficult

yup the value for all the nice numbers will disappear

only those old number plate can keep the value

yup. likely they calculated that it will only be a one time to earn the big bucks. after that the plates will get traded between sellers and buyers and at most they get the 1.3k for transfer to old cars. but with new numbers released ever so often in the current system, LTA will get a continuous revenue stream.

to counteract this maybe can make vanity plates a rental system - after rent finish either can renew or go back to the original plate.

think a lot of businesses will be interested to make use of it for advertisement purposes

Well, without actual knowledge of how they think we wouldn’t know, so we keep making assumptions. Wonder if it would ever get addressed, so who’s gonna get MP to ask in parliament? Lol
