9/10 May Spain

after more than a week or so, F1 returns to the track for some serious business

this is where the public like us like to see racing, not silly stupid politics

the circuit in spain has a layout that is well balanced so it is a good indicator of overall car balance.

a car that performs in barcelona has the potential to perform well at many places

and most teams will have some, if not a lot of updates, for their cars

so i will be very eager to see who get it right, and who still lack pace/ down force

although, personally, i'm not a ferrari fan i will like to see that they improved

otherwise it will be very disappointing for many fans

schedule:

FRI Practice 1 16:00

FRI Practice 2 20:00

SAT Practice 17:00

SAT Qualifying 20:00

SUN Race 20:00

Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen set the fastest times of the morning session in Barcelona on Saturday, the pair around half a second clear the two Brawns, an indication that the cars were being run very light as it is inconceivable that the Italian cars have made a leap forward of 0.7secs per lap.

The BMW Sauber of Robert Kubica - hopelessly off the pace a fortnight ago in Bahrain - was fifth fastest ahead of the Toyota of Jarno Trulli, Lewis Hamilton's McLaren, the second Toyota of Timo Glock and the Toro Rosso of Sebastien Buemi. Fernando Alonso was 10th fastest in his Renault.

It was a surprise not to see the two Williams or the two Red Bulls in the picture but this was a clear indication that the times in the session should not be taken too seriously and we may get a very different picture by the end of qualifying.

BMW's Nick Heidfeld was down at the back of the field after an off which broke the nose of his car.

1. Felipe Massa Ferrari 1:20.553

2. Kimi Raikkonen Ferrari 1:20.635

3. Jenson Button Brawn GP-Mercedes 1:21.050

4. Rubens Barrichello Brawn GP-Mercedes 1:21.163

5. Robert Kubica BMW Sauber 1:21.239

6. Jarno Trulli Toyota 1:21.256

7. Lewis Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes 1:21.346

8. Timo Glock Toyota 1:21.377

9. Sebastien Buemi Toro Rosso-Ferrari 1:21.424

10. Fernando Alonso Renault 1:21.499

drama drama ... a wonderful lap by Button in Q3.

he was the very last to cross the start/finish line to

do the fastest times in Q3.

it was a some explosive start tot he race tmw as

Vettel will try to overtake which way he can... and Massa

with KERS will use it to the full advantage, for sure..

at Q1, drama for Kimi who will starting on 16th position

cos i believed he refused to go out again after he set a Ok

time. 2 weeks back in Bahrain, he was asked to do another

qualifying lap when he did not want to because he reckon he

wants to save tyres... seems things go one big round for him

and it is still bad! [lipsrsealed]

bad for the McLaren as well.. Hamilton only managed to start

in 14th place, and his team mate on 18th.

now, will await for the weight for each car to have some prediction

for the race

Qualifying Result:

1. Jenson Button Brawn GP-Mercedes 1:20.527

2. Sebastian Vettel Red Bull-Renault 1:20.660

3. Rubens Barrichello Brawn GP-Mercedes 1:20.762

The new management [hur] when it comes to strategies. During the Brawn/Todt/Schumi era, races are still being won in races when cars are not competitve with clever strategies. Have they not learn in the last Massa blunder?[smash]

i think this blunder is a result of the Bahrain race quali...

Kimi already got a good time in Bahrain Q2 but the team still insisted that

he goes out again... which later means Kimi did not hv another good set

of soft for Q3

Kimi was pissed, i gathered..

so back to Spain now... he did a time which is not too bad at all

and he choose to relak...

the team hv to concur with him, cos if they force him to go out again

the Iceman will lose his cool shld he run out of rubber in Q3 'again'

basically, the team and Kimi has a catch 22 situation

darn if we do, and darn if we dun..

so it's Darn all round for Kimi today race

i wonder if his relationship with the team will go sour cos of this..

anyway, here's the lucky charm that Jenson gotten himself..
