More on the Facelifted Honda Stream.

Behind the new look, or under the bonnet to be more precise, there are some changes made to the engine and transmission that allows the latest model to be more environmental friendly.

First of all, all 1.8L model now come with a 5 speed auto gearbox, instead of CVT as in the prefacelifted one. While that has no impact on the FC (in fact it has improved marginally from 14.6Km/L to 15.0Km/L for the "X" grade) under the 10-15mode fuel economy test, a different story was told with the new JC08 fuel economy test, introduced just this year.

FC (10-15 mode): 15.0Km/L [X grade - FF], 14.6Km/L [RSZ & RST - FF]

FC (New JC08): 13.4Km/L [X grade - FF], 13.2Km/L [RSZ & RST -FF]

And the real suprise come from the revised 2.0L variant. With the use of CVT gearbox, not only the FC (10-15 mode) matches that of the lower cc sibling, the JC08 test demonstrate a entirely different results, which as you might have guess, it even better than the 1.8L variant!

FC (10-15 mode): 15.0Km/L [Gi grade - FF], 14.6Km/L [RSZ & RST - FF]

FC (New JC08): 14.4Km/L [X grade - FF], 14.2Km/L [RSZ & RST -FF]

Dimensions remain unchanged though.

Yah, but not really surprising, given that it is going to be launched in more market (possibily in Europe and even US), a 5 speed auto is more cost effective in bigger volume.

Great looking MPV but the new facelifted Wish is a serious competitor now. Pity they screwed up the dashboard though.
