I've see the china made "stungun" in Thailand, readily available in the night markets.

But the reaction of the girl you described is different from what i expected. If this stungun is the same "Tazer" sort of weapon, the reaction should be like that poor guy in this clip:

Whole body will immediately go stiff first, or maybe the voltage really that high. [dead]

those made in china stun gun is readily available almost worldwide (just not available in sinagpore). My family in indonesia has 3 of those stun gun, 2 small ones that can be put in handbags, 1 looks like a torch light. They are cheap somemore.. my family use the stun gun on big rats, the rats immediately died with smoke coming out of the body. Bec its made in china, we have never dare to use it on human other than in very very emergency situation. I think those made in china ones no QC, may kill people.

i think this piece of news is good, i'll definitely be more alert in malaysia.

Stun gun mailed to UK originated from SG!

Beware of packages you send overseas, they will open it.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2903789/Father-three-40-imported-stun-gun-Singapore-disguised-iPhone-walks-free-court.html

A father who imported a stun gun disguised as an iPhone walked free from court yesterday.

John Liddiatt, 40, ordered the device online while browsing collectible replica weapons.

But when suspicious customs officers investigated the parcel from Singapore they found the replica iPhone and immediately passed it to the police.

Officers confirmed the device was a weapon and it was re-wrapped before being delivered to Liddiatt at his home address.

The dad-of-three was immediately arrested and confessed he had ordered the device, but claimed he had no idea it would be real because of its cheap price.

Liddiatt, of Broad Walk, Knowle, Bristol, admitted one count of acquiring a disguised firearm at Bristol Crown Court and was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment, suspended for a year.

The black phone, which is in a cover, came with a charger and has two prongs in the bottom which act as pins for the stun gun.

George Threlfall, prosecuting, said: 'On December 19 a package was sent from Singapore, addressed to Liddiatt at his home address.

'It was intercepted by customs and officers opened it and revealed what they believed to be a stun gun device.

'This was passed on to police and following examination, firearms officers who confirmed it was a stun gun with the appearance of a mobile phone.'

Police then re-packaged the device before an officer, dressed as a postman, delivered it to Liddiatt'

These unregulated tasers are common place.

I was once cutting my hair in a hair salon (before my wedding, so didn't call barber). The overly chatty and frankly weird hairdresser was telling me about buying these in Thailand. Only 15 dollars? She carries it around when she goes Thailand.
