it's a F1 weekend once again.... dun most of us know it already when

we heard of "VPower going at the price of 98" AGAIN

[laugh]

this week, the 'circus' is at Istanbul Park Circuit.

it is slightly over 5km in length, but the most tricky bit of this track is

that it is of anti clockwise.

driver will have to prepare carefully for this weekend, else necks will

suffer immensely.

also "the track is best known for the challenge presented by Turn Eight,

a triple-apex left-hander that seems to go on and on.

it is taken around 250 km/h generates arguably the highest G-forces

drivers see over the season. "

however, the past few weeks i had been really disappointed with the F1 circus.

it is really a circus...

1stly, we did not see more racing than last year with all the car design changes,

did we? then again, i reserve my judgment on that, as most cars are still

trying to match Brawn's clever deign. once, teams do catch up, i really do hope

there are really more true blooded racing from all teams.

2nd, is there really going to be a F1 2010 season? i just can't believe at a time

when the sports shld be doing everything it can to promote itself, it just turn ard and

shot itself in both feet. one foot for the ugly cars, and another for all the

politics involving cost cutting and what have you.

Max Mosley has even came out and said this:

hmmm

think i had a typo or brain fade in my previous post, shld be:

so do i expect a good race this weekend? i will not really hold my breathe

for it, as Button should really continue his rich form from the front to clinch

yet another win. he will not give it his all, that i'm very sure.

Practice 2, from grandprix.com:

Heikki Kovalainen set the fastest time of the second session of Friday practice for the Turkish GP, beating Fernando Alonso, Robert Kubica and Kazuki Nakajima. This unusual line-up suggests that the times should not be taken too seriously.

Fifth place went to Sebastian Vettel, who missed much of the session after an early mechanical problem left him stranded on the circuit. The car was retrieved by marshals and sent out again.

Behind the Red Bull driver was the Toyota of Jarno Trulli and the Williams-Toyota of Nico Rosberg. Rubens Barrichello was eighth quickest in his Brawn-Mercedes ahead of Mark Webber, Nelson Piquet, Felipe Massa and Jenson Button.

Lewis Hamilton was next up ahead of Timo Glock, Kimi Raikkonen, Nick Heidfeld and then the two Force Indias and the two Toro Rossos.

Several drivers had spins, while Fisichella and Nakajima had a minor collision and both spun.

practice 3:

Felipe Massa set the fastest time of the first practice session on Saturday morning in Turkey. The Ferrari driver, who has won the race three times thus far, looked very strong, but had the two Toyotas right up with him, Jarno Trulli beating Timo Glock to second. Fourth place fell to Kazuki Nakajima's Williams with Robert Kubica sixth.

Rising quietly up the order, however, were the two Brawns. The team had a quiet day on Friday but as things become more serious so Rubens Barrichello and Jenson Button climb the order and it is hard to imagine that they will not be serious players in the qualifying sessions.

Behind them in eighth was Nico Rosberg in the second Williams, ahead of Kimi Raikkonen's Ferrari, Sebastian Vettel's Red Bull, Nelson Piquet's Renault and Lewis Hamilton's McLaren.

Mark Webber was 13th fastest ahead of Nick Heidfeld's BMW Sauber, the McLaren of Heikki Kovalainen and Adrian Sutil's Force India.

Next up were the two Toro Rossos of Sebastiens Bourdais and Buemi, then a disappointing Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella in the second Force India.

After three sessions when the times have meant very little, things will get serious in qualifying.

1. Felipe Massa Ferrari 1:27.983

2. Jarno Trulli Toyota 1:28.022

3. Timo Glock Toyota 1:28.094

Sometimes i wonder if Hamilton is really as good as everybody say he is or is it just McLaren having a fantastic car last yr.??????

bro.... he went ard the top gear track in ULTRA wet condition and clocked a timing close to the legendary stig (in dry condition)

that to me... can only be done by schumacher.

Sometimes i wonder if Hamilton is really as good as everybody say he is or is it just McLaren having a fantastic car last yr.??????

i think it's abit of both.......

look at what JB is doing with a good car..... he could do nothing with a ill-handling honda....

yup.. a good car is equally important, if not more important, than a good driver.

cos as we can see from JB's case, there's only so much he can do with a lousy

car

and with a good car, he just seems to be on his natural quickness

i.e. a bad driver can hide behind a good car

but with a bad car, there seems to be nowhere to hide in it for any drivers

The suspicion after qualifying was that Sebastian Vettel had used a light fuel load to beat the Brawns to pole, and so it proved.

But this was not a gamble on the Monaco scale from Red Bull, as Vettel only has a couple of laps less fuel than his front-row counterpart Jenson Button

quite an interesting race, starting with Ruben Barrichello screwing up his start again

then towards the end, it was exciting to see if the 2 Red Bull will in fact racing wheel to wheel

with one another and perhaps taking both out.

[rolleyes]

and it's clear there's little or no spectators in track, i dun think there's one single

shot of the stands anywhere...

[confused]

Supercharged

That brawn car is really good. Even when it is heavily loaded with fuel, Vettel's lighter Red bull has big issue on catching it and overtaking it. And that Brawn car has no issue in going "flat out" (JB said that) at the triple Apex corner.

What the hell is Honda thinking after coming out with such a good car?

Poor Rubens Barrichello........ had a poor start..... [mad]

3rd fastest but due to poor starts, found himself position 12 at the first turn ........

crash with another car at around 18 laps and later retires 6 laps before finish......... [:(]

the worst thing abt the Honda pull out is that they in fact paid for

BrawnGP expenses this year... and soon instead of a Honda logo,

we may see Merc badge on the car as the engine supplier!
