Alfist168 Clutched June 23, 2009 Author Share June 23, 2009 (edited) Somemore if i m not wrong, the H and Ts in these surveys are largely not MIT, unlike our SG market, where almost all T is MIT.... JD Power is based in California, America. And in America, their Toyota Corolla are actually the same as ours (sourced from Thailand), but their camry is MIA (Made in America). Other MIA cars include Accord and Civic. Korean cars in US are usually sourced from Korea, except their Santa Fe and Sonata, which are made in Alabama (southern USA). Tigershark1976 Turbocharged June 23, 2009 Share June 23, 2009 "Hyundai is 4th overall with 95 problems per 100 vehicles, beating Honda, Toyota & Mercedes-Benz" when i 1st read this statement, i tot hyundai car have plenty of problems... and their problems beat Honda, toyota and Merc... anyway, 95 problems per 100 vehicle?? that means on average, almost every car they produced also got problem?? This such result shows that Hyundai is lousy but their competitors are worst .... much worst!

Then Lexus how? 84 problems per 100 vehicles, means they also lousy lor. :o But in JD Power, they measure IQS via the following criteria: * Exterior * The Driving Experience * Features/Controls/Displays * Audio/Entertainment/Navigation * Seats * HVAC, or Climate Controls * Interior * Engine/Transmission Seeing this, it means that non-mechanical problems like engine not powerful (bcoz have to run in mah), fog light switch in awkward position (as in the Tucson), & navigation system (if equipped) that need to get used to... should be considered as "problems" in this study, because these issues are the most prevalent in your 1st 90 days of ownership. hence contributing to this significant number. Sabretan 4th Gear June 23, 2009 Share June 23, 2009 (edited) It has long been accepted in the automobile industry that certain American and European makes simply got reliability issues. Which is why I don't understand Conti brands have such a high premium over their price. I have a towkay friend who swear by Mer Benz....if MB give problem, he would just say suay...but if the camry or Santa Fe he also owns give him problem, he say Toyota std droping, Korean cannot make it.... so sad...
