Maxxtotal 1st Gear September 13, 2009 Share September 13, 2009 I'm very surprised that Mondeo is now selling at 89k, same price during the period when COE was very low. Tho i must say the OMV at 25k is considered low, prob thanks to the better x-change rates, but at this price, it is certainly a good bargain and alternative to the Camry. hey it is even cheaper than Mazda 6! and yes, only 3k more than the Skoda Octavia....but of cos Octavia has higher OMV... It is quite a good bargain...in fact a VERY good bargain I think, esp with skyrocketing COE premium ↡ Advertisement

Carmour 4th Gear September 14, 2009 Share September 14, 2009 Agreed. Nissan Teana at $93K also a good alternative. Maybe Honda Civic should not compared against the Mondeo. Should use the Accord instead. $103K!!!

Carcuter88 Neutral Newbie September 14, 2009 Share September 14, 2009 That's very enlightening indeed. But I guess its 2008 ba. Can't be 2007. Anyway, what will YOM affect besides the future export value?
Perrier 1st Gear September 14, 2009 Share September 14, 2009 How about a used 2007 Megane that has OMV of 20K selling at sub $40k?
Riverfish 2nd Gear September 14, 2009 Share September 14, 2009 Megane is a great buy given its price point and the rich list of equipments. But the interior looks dated, and the rear headroom is a bit cramped. I've been waiting for its new generation to come to SG.
GoodCar 4th Gear September 14, 2009 Share September 14, 2009 civic expensive? no worry, u have VTEC VTEC -- since 1992. and the Alpha has it before Honda. Now almost every car has got Variable v/v timing technology

The "Titanium" edition was selling 10k more, at 89k (08YOM). For this "bargain", are you referring to the base model or the "Titanium" model? I remember the price well, cos the SE kept hounding me for a few days pestering me to sign on the dotted line.

If the 89k is the titanium and if the FC is 12km/l or above, I would have get this car instead of waiting for the next Ecobost technology arrival
Ferraricalifornia 1st Gear September 16, 2009 Share September 16, 2009 89k is for basic model la...they don't bring in the Titanium spec version already...too expensive with all the features... but the 2.3L engine for a 1.6t car is really underpowered for me...pity the car... Axela72 5th Gear October 6, 2009 Share October 6, 2009 http://www.autoevolution.com/news/spyshots...804.html#image1 See link: Ford recently introduced a new engine option for the British version of Mondeo, a 2.0-liter ECOnetic that develops 115 PS and releases 139 grams of CO2 every kilometer. Mated to a six-speed transmission, the engine achieves a fuel consumption rating of 54.3 mpg (5.2l/100 km) - it could go as high as 64.2 mpg (4.4l/100 km) in highway cycle which translates into a driving range of 800 miles (1,290 km). Wow, almost like 20km/l FC.
Rtth84 1st Gear October 6, 2009 Share October 6, 2009 thats the diesel they are talking abt, 115ps 2.0L turbodiesel sounds about right. fuel consumption around the same as other makes too.
Chuckinola Neutral Newbie October 8, 2009 Share October 8, 2009 mondeo is the best driving car. cant actually be compared to anything else such as honda? accord? cum'on u got to be kidding me. it won most of the awards out der. read tthe reivews, its even much better to drive than the beemer (which actually doesnt drives dat well only glamour). Chuckinola Neutral Newbie October 8, 2009 Share October 8, 2009 same price range doesnt mean same thing. ford have very2 high production cost compared to japanese cars. disemble both n u'll see y. they r just pricing cheap to make it affordable to people. if accord is 103k n u wanna compare quality n drive, mondeo shud be priced 150K easy. but well singaporean, wat do they know abt cars. ↡ Advertisement
