The current 1.6SC C180 produces the same power and torque as the previous 1.8SC C180 (about 156bhp). It is also designed as a Blue Efficiency model, with enhancements that boost fuel economy. OMV is about the same.

The C200 is 1.8L SC producing 184bhp.

The TC version of 1.8L engine is used in the new E Class E200 and E250.

I was reading up on some Blue Efficiency articles, some refer it to twin turbo charging, so is that = super charging? Any bros here well versed in these terminology?

Hi bro

theres only a twin pulse supercharged engine. no turbo

turbo is not supercharge. both are forced induction to increase power but turbo draws the power from the exhaust while super is from the belt in the engine

C180's power would only be comparable to like the 320... not that great if you wanna chiong all the way . but theres kleeman piggyback and SC pulley to up BHP

hi bro

yes all sc.

however, the sound insulation in the new c180 is reduced to lighten the weight so theres more noise up front

We tried both the C180BE and the C200 - found the C180's 1.6l engine to be very gruff, which did not match the much touted refinement of the Merc badge...

So we went for the C200 instead - much more relaxed and the engine doesn't sound and feel strained...
