sorry forgot to add, mine is cvt

Your mileage is normal since you are heavy footed + with CVT gearbox.

My previous lancer achieved only 8km/L. [sweatdrop]

For your fc should be normal since you are quite heavy footed, mine is a manual and the FC always depends mostly on driving pattern and road travelled. My experience after 2 yrs can be 15KM/L with 80% HW and 20%city driving or can be as low as 12km/L for the reverse . I am a light footer cos I do not find much joy flooring a stock bread and butter car.

IMO ,CVT gearbox will have a better FC compared to normal auto trans but you need to drive gently in order to have that advantage.

Manual Mit CS3 can get anywhere between 10-12 km/L.

C&C claims 12 km/L, but that one must be very light footed liao.

CVT's transmission loss >> manual.

So getting 9 km/L or thereabouts is not surprising.

My 3-yr old CVT getting around 11(+/-1)km/L.

Pure stock with 16" lightweight rims.

Weekdays confirm use KPE twice (Bartley to ECP & back).

CVT cannot be heavy-footed otherwise FC really drops significantly. Gd thing about the lancer CVT is max torque @ 2,700rpm, so no need HRF to get the car moving fast from still [thumbsup]

Now got belt whining noise from cold start [sweatdrop]

Most of the time can clock >500km per full tank until the light comes on, then top up till full is around 38 +/- litres. Mine is manual CS3. If driven gently can get >15km/l, but nowadays I'm getting around 13+km/l with slightly aggressive driving. [drivingcar]

My dad's CS3 is CVT too, with 168K of milleage clocked.

Running on 15" Advanti rims & Falken ST115 195/60/R15; minor performance mods like operated muffler & after-market air filter, his FC is constantly at 11-12km/L.

His driving style is spirited, with 70% highway most of the time.

Please make sure that your tyre pressure is correct and your engine oil is not overfilled.

Every oil change only require exactly 3 quarts (0.946L x 3) of engine oil, and don't use any engine oil thicker than 5W40.

When changing spark plugs, ensure it's the correct heat range, eg: Denso is IK20, NGK is using size 6.

Pls also make sure to change your CVT fluid, use nothing more than 4L.

Cheers

thanks for the tip, maybe the heat range for the spark plugs are suspect, and the cvt fluid, any idea how much to change the cvt fluid.

For Mitsubishi CVT Fluid, I always buy the original "Diaqueen white 4L bottle" from stockist, Min Ghee, should be about $30.

Thereafter, just bring to your normal workshop to change.
