Ericongy 3rd Gear November 12, 2009 Share November 12, 2009 i heard this from the older generation.... they say last time the standard use to calculate distant travelled is miles.. so they do their car servicing every 1k miles, another 5k miles , another 10k miles n so on.... now the standard we use is km, n scince 1mile = abt 1.6km, shouldn't we do our 1st servicing at 1600km, 2nd at 8000km(5*1600) etc? ↡ Advertisement

Silver_blade Turbocharged November 13, 2009 Share November 13, 2009 Yup we used to us imperial units (like in Britain). Actually most local conti AD just change their mile to km...eg. 15,000miles to 15,000km.
Benarsenal Turbocharged November 13, 2009 Share November 13, 2009 Only USA and UK use miles. Everyone else in the world use KM. So KM is more or less the "standard" measurement. ↡ Advertisement
