I think from that picture, it seems like being rear ended. I think most MPV, which is just like a hatchback car, where there is very small allowance between the rear bumper and the rear seats, will be a very dangerous place to be in if being rear ended...

Been seeing more and more Toyota Passo Sette on our roads, which is essentially the same car as the Perodua Alza....

it's basically a cheaper model compared to the Toyota Sienta....

interior room is definitely no where as huge and carvenous compared to the Proton Exora, but as all MPV's are, 3rd row seats are still mainly for kids (be it legroom, hiproom, or size of seats)....

and if you still want crumple zones behind the 3rd row of seats, buy a PA Bus van lah....

MPV's gotta sacrifice a bit of safety, when it comes to being rear ended....

Wonder why the Alza is detuned from 107hp@6000rpm/141nm@4400rpm to 103hp@6000rpm/136nm@4400rpm since the engine are source from Avanza and Rush?

Neutral Newbie

Just saw a Malaysian one on the road earlier and then came to the forum to check on it. Looks good but I don't know if it is a comfortable ride. The AD didn't bring it over here either.

It's a stretched Myvi.

Did they cut and insert an extra mid section to get the length? Or build from original extended platform.

For those that wanted to buy have to wait, and better to wait.

Wait for anything that may happen to the extended body.

usually first model lower spec. wait for next model.

The engine used in Alza is old detuned engine from toyota Avanza (found in Malaysia) aka just re badge and put in old engine......

Note: Perodua is owned majority by UMW toyota, Daihatsu which is also a subsidiary of Toyota thus Perodua is able to replace the new engine with the old engine and sell it as a new model in Malaysia...

The passo Sette from the PI of SG has much latest engine from toyota,japan...

Correction accepted.

If it's factory designed for 6 seater than no issue on structure integrity to worry.

As Proton tried on a Proton Saga Limosine, by cutting mid section and added 1 length of mid section. That was a legacy.

I also see from TMC website that Daihatsu also made this model and named Boon Luminas.

Just a rebadge Toyota Passo Sette with modification done in Malaysia..

Perodua Alza

Spacious and comfort wise still cant beat Exora

Let us hope they come soon. Kelisa already phased out. Kenari following behind. Perocom may be next with the high COE, unless can survive with Myvi and Viva

looks like an extended wheelbase Myvi from the side.

You got the point. You are right. Read that it is a Myvi lengthened by about a metre for the additional row of seats, with 1.5L engine instead. Expect it to perform like a little overloaded.
