Are you using Joie Tilt? I am using two of that and even without the locking clip, both seats are fitted very tight. The rear seat belts in my car are not ALR. Did u actually follow the car seat manual for the installation?

Mine is JOIE Stages and we needed a new kind of belt clip, not the one that came with our JOIE and it is tight now.

 

We follow the car installation instructions but didn't know there's a difference in the clips.
