Chickenbackside 1st Gear November 16, 2013 Share November 16, 2013 Is there any chance of low carbing while patronising Zi char ? No choice, busy lifestyle , kids and all , finidng it difficult to tale time to cook and clean on weekdays Low carb can, but the oil and MSG will kill you. When I first started, I used to order bittergourd soup and some kind of veggie. Of course, the soup is full of MSG and the veggies are usually deep fried before stir frying, plus the MSG. But I didn't think of that at the time. If really no choice, I would still order some kind of veggie based soup (probably 2 bowls), eat the stuff and not drink any soup. ↡ Advertisement
Matoonia 6th Gear November 18, 2013 Share November 18, 2013 I squat once a week. 5 sets. That's it. Pre squat: Post squat: How come so much difference! The before squat can see the shorts got lots of allowance and loose, then after squat the shorts become so tight, machiam like wearing tights. Or did u change shorts? lol

But after I started squatting, my thighs became much bigger. I would say maybe 5 inches bigger. Last time skinny jeans no problem. Now forget about it. I can barely squeeze into slim/straight jeans and must buy 1 size up from my waist size then go to tailor and take in the waist.

Nonetheless 5 inches is very good progress. I can understand about the skinny jeans part, yeah can forget about wearing.

The pictures were taken a few YEARS apart! Actually, my legs were even bigger before, to the point that I couldn't fit into my pants, so I had to purposely lower my weights to make my thighs a more "normal" size. Now to maintain my leg size, I lift pretty light for 15-20 reps. Feels a bit wrong to take it so easy, but being able to wear pants is in the end more important, haha. But I won't give up squatting. It's a great exercise.

It can also reduce ITBS injuries for runners and improve strength for most if not all people. =)

Chickenbackside 1st Gear November 21, 2013 Share November 21, 2013 If your training is physically demanding, and you don't have some medical condition like diabetes, I'd just have some rice. But if your training is the relac type, and you have quite a bit of weight to lose still, just load up on the protein lor.

Matoonia 6th Gear May 7, 2014 Share May 7, 2014 Have anyone tried TRX???? TRX is just the suspension ropes. Just google and you will find many exercise videos using TRX. I have used it in a demo before. That time got promotion, not cheap, I think $100-200 for a set of TRX. But the problem is I have no place to put at home. if you can bring down to a fitness park and hook to chin up bar will be quite useful. But really what's your objective? Lose weight, gain muscle or endurance training?

There is a thread alrdy on this http://www.mycarforum.com/topic/2694167-100-given-for-keeping-fit-faster-go-get-it/ Anyway for endurance, swimming and jogging/running is still most effective. Can make use of the ActiveSG$ to go swimming. Better for joints too :)

Icedbs Turbocharged July 16, 2014 Share July 16, 2014 Mike Craven has an amazing book in amazon which contain mostly body weight exercises. He is a SEAL instructor and I seriously didn;t know that there are so many variants of bodyweight exercises that you can do without a gym. So now I kind of cycle like 2 days of bodyweight exercises and then 1 day of gym to give the body some variety and muscle confusion. Check out this book. Wonderful for exercising without gym http://www.amazon.com/You-Are-Your-Own-Gym/dp/0345528581/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405507554&sr=8-1&keywords=your+body+is+your+own+gym
