Dwoon 1st Gear August 16, 2011 Share August 16, 2011 Please PM me your dentist info that charges $3.5K per tooth, as mine quoted me ~$5K per molar. The Sunshine Dental which my wife & daughter go to in Woodlands... also charges $5K+ for a tooth. My root canal might be internally cracked leaving me no other option but to do the implants. (dentures are out) Thanks I did mine recently, once the dentist put the insert into ur gum, they will let it settle for abt 3 mth after that then they put false teeth. My insert was in Dec 2010 and the false tooth in Mar 2011, in between use denture. And its 3.5K per implant. ↡ Advertisement

Babyt 4th Gear August 16, 2011 Share August 16, 2011 (edited) i m going implant on 29 aug...the dentist said its only $3.5K. not sure if anymore charges but thats what he quoted. regarding cpf, cpf allows 1 visit 1 deduction of a certain amt. if your dentist can HELP U submit mutiple claims...then u can pay lesser from your pocket...u know what i mean. anything i forgot to ask my dentist...he said if not enough bone, can do grafting but i m wondering if grafting is already part of the implant cost. Babyt 4th Gear August 19, 2011 Share August 19, 2011 (edited) my dentist touched my gum said sld be able to do it but xray can show the bone. not sure if he will only xray my teeth on the day of implant. what i hope is that bone graft n implant can be done at the same time...dont want to wait for bone to grow and then implant...so long. my dentist is a late 30s guy and he is a trained prosth. guys, u can go to youtube and search for dental implant and dental bone graft procedures.... Ivan_06 5th Gear August 19, 2011 Share August 19, 2011 ... anyway, i am into my 3rd premium ...so abt $70 ...if i can claim 80%, i still save quite alot. but the doc was telling me that the policy has lots of red tape ... so will only find the the pros and cons when i file the actual claim. pre-existing dental conditions are not covered... might as well not insure
Ysc3 Twincharged August 19, 2011 Share August 19, 2011 pre-existing dental conditions are not covered... might as well not insure well, i'll be able to find out if the plan is worth it or not next week ... if really cannot use, the will treat the paid premiums as educational purpose and cancel it. Ysc3 Twincharged August 19, 2011 Share August 19, 2011 guys, u can go to youtube and search for dental implant and dental bone graft procedures.... found a video link actually, but the warning was not to watch it if you are going for the procedure .... so i think i will heed the writer's advice. Babyt 4th Gear August 22, 2011 Share August 22, 2011 got a split tooth two days ago and called up the new dental insurance policy that i bought ... but unfortunately must be inforce for 3 months than can apply to claim .... anyway, still went to the dentist that the insurance recommended ... and since there was no pain the doc adv me to bear with it for another 2 weeks until my policy can be enforced then go back to him again. my lower premolar has split into 20% and 80% ... the 20% part is shaky and might fall off anytime. although the 80% part is still embedded in the gum, the doc still told me it had to be extracted and offered me 2 options - platinum bridge @ $2400 or implant @ $4120. after reading so many things on the net, i am wondering why the dentist told me the downtime for am implant is abt 6 weeks only ?? he told me after extraction wait for 1 mth for the healing stage, then go back again for the screw implant. then maybe a week or two can fix the abutmen and tooth liow ?? what is the plan like? is it by Ace insurance? they said pre-existing can get up to 20% off cost?
