Ahtong 1st Gear February 15, 2010 Share February 15, 2010 In an NUS module on nation building in Singapore, a Tiong student asked the following: Heading : Academic Discussion From : JIN XU Date : 07-Feb-2010 01:44 PM Topic : merger with China Hi all, I just wonder if there is a possibility for Sg to merge with China, since so many people here are Chinese in race, and a strong hinterland of the Chinese mainland is obviouly beneficial for the singapore's economy. Why not Singapore just assume Hong Kong's module and join China, while maintain its self-governorship? Original thread seems to have been deleted. Cutebeat Clutched February 15, 2010 Share February 15, 2010 (edited) Original thread seems to have been deleted. Read the cached version here just noticed that a thread created yesterday from a MCF brother who kana summon on CNY DAY 1 was being deleted as well. these things needs to be addressed instead of sweeping it under the carpet. by hiding/deleting it and pretends that such double standards of summoning doesn't exist will only caused a very deep resentment to others. it's a volcano waiting to be erupt. Calford 2nd Gear February 15, 2010 Share February 15, 2010 Is Singapore really democratic? well, that is not imprtant. All system have their good andd bad. The most important is that the Governmant is working for the people standing for the people. Singapore gov. is doing that. Singapore dont have to merge to China but should establish a close tie. Nolicense Turbocharged February 15, 2010 Share February 15, 2010 why not all ah moh populated countries sld merge to vie against prc land? why not all muslim countries be merged to vie against the world. silly thought from this student. actually its not that stupid. it is what is happening in the world right now though not by merging. i'm sure you read current world affairs. there are countries which share some common fears that will band together. there are some countries that will band together out of common cultural heritage or beliefs. the EU is a merger of sorts, economically driven, not idealogically driven, which seems to be the prc student's premise. Stary Turbocharged February 15, 2010 Share February 15, 2010 Guys....why take the AT question so seriously? AT students or any foreign students in our Universities are more vocal and inquisitive than our locals. That's how they learn things fast. Never mind if their questions sound absurd at times. So don't take it so seriously...it's just their learning process. Our local lads on the other hand would normally keep quiet and thinking when would the lecture end. Atonchia Supersonic February 15, 2010 Share February 15, 2010 Then the PRCs should practice dipolmacy they used to in the past, giving their princessess as brides to court the merging country by creating a union. Did anyone in the crowd asked if they have already settled Taiwan reunification plans? Their closest neighbour.
