Try this http://battery.com.sg

They have a branch at SLS, i got my old macbook replacement battery from them. While I was there I picked up small wall plug type 240-110v transformer.

I saw that they have laptop power bricks of all sorts and specs too.

Just call them up and give them your hp power brick specs and they can find a 3rd party equivalent for you.

You can get any other brands power supply adaptor in Sim Lim Tower. Just note down the output voltage and current, and will be a breeze to find there. Most of the shops are old uncles and u just bring and show them your old adaptor and they can recommend.

Just for curiosity, can u tell me what's the brand of the HP power adaptor? Look at the casing. Many many years back, i was a designer in the field of power electronics.

Thanks bro. Will try SLS and SLT tomorrow. The connector is 3 pin.

The brand is HP and the manufacturer is Astec Electronics.

Input is 100-240V 0.9A

Output is +32V/+12V 1094mA/250mA

Do you have any shop in SLT to recommend?

Adaptor from Astec electronics will be very very old liao.

Actually, power supply adaptor with single output for router, STB, etc will be easy to find in Sim Lim Tower. For multi-output adaptor, hopefully will not be too difficult.

Anyway, if you find something close, be sure to choose the correct voltages; 32V and 12V. The current doesnt matter but have to be higher than your current rated ones. A single output adaptor might cost > $20.(though BOM cost is way much lower) Hence, you can estimate the cost for dual output adaptor then...

It was a long time ago, since I step into SLSquare.

There was a shop selling power adaptors, batteries for laptops.

Sorry, can't remember where, just need to hunt for it from level 3 to 6.

Otherwise, I'll just get one from aliexpress, as most of them comes from you know where.

Local shops just marked up the price for the same item you get from aliexpress.

The shop should be the one that Vratenza mentioned.

I ordered from Ezbuy in the end......S$10.35.

Haha...even cheaper than Aliexpress.

it would be easier if you bring your existing adapter along  to the shop for comparison.

Twincharged

question for electric person ..

my cctv cam uses a 5v/2a adapter ... but it spoil yesterday.

then I tried using a multi-selectable adapter and set it to 6v output fixed at 500ma. (the voltage is in multiple of 2)

why does it get hot so fast ?

your current amp too low. and will kill your current if you continue to use

better to get a higher amp rated adapter.

You mean the 2a or 500ma thing?

Sorry for not being clear.

the original defective adapter is 5V@2A so you should get one that is the same or higher amp rating.

The one you are using currently is under powered (current is too low) to drive your cctv cam ,  [email protected] (500mA), and that is the reason the adapter heats up pretty fast.

You are using underrated adapter. Get 2A or higher adapter.
