More expensive petrol will make people drive less often. Then there will be less jams. We are just a small island afterall.

I have also realise there are bad jams along bukit timah road and clementi road during evening peak hours. ERP there will be good to cut down traffic.

bulk of the jam cause by people driving to SIM for lessons and parents fetching children from school. Should encourage them to take public transport to reduce jams.

this only base on yr point of view... don forget that on the road not all car are travailing for the sake of casual... there are lorry that need to deliver goods, there are company car that run about doing business... if this 2 price goes up... everything also need to go up as well.... same goes to our public bus and taxi...

It does not affect public transport because its already mentioned clearly that public transport prices is NOT affected by fuel prices.

Anyway, most goods vehicles runs on diesel, not petrol. Can always set different tax for petrol and diesel.

I don't know how many cabs run on petrol but vast majority are running diesel. A few running on CNG. But taxis are already paying a reduced rate for diesel right now.

sales pple has nothing to do with public transport and they do contribute to jam.

they only say tat when fuel prices drops and they refused to reduce price. when fuel prices goes up they will use tat as an excuse. take SP power as an example. needless to say?

Then you should also go read the statement about reduction in public transport prices due to reduction in crude oil prices.....Someone mentioned that fares are not pegged to oil prices. It was a hot topic of discussion back then in HWZ.........

Govt dont control petrol prices but they do TAX petrol. Increase in tax rates naturally increase prices....just like cigarettes....
