Chiangauto Clutched April 14, 2010 Share April 14, 2010 as from your description,it seem to be compressor issue or compressor valve issue.i would suggest you send to air con specialist. for Wish compressor is about 700 to 800 bucks.but for only valve change,it could be 250plus bucks.Any WS should know the issue as it is common issue. Could it be an aircon filter issue? I realise that aircon filter is something which a lot of people fails to change or maintain it.

Mustank Hypersonic April 14, 2010 Share April 14, 2010 Bro, i suspect is aircon fan (in front of aircon radiator) spolit. to check if this is so, you just open up the bonnet. engine must be switched on. aircon also switch on see whether the fan is moving. if fan is not moving, using a mallet or the handle bar of a screw driver to gentlty wack the motor portion of the fan. do not hit the blade of the fan if the fan motor is spoilt, generally by wacking the motor a bit, the motor will move again but not for long. you need to change the motor asap. for the musso aircon fan motor, is $70. ownself change is $22 + time
Accord Clutched April 14, 2010 Share April 14, 2010 For your case, 80% likely to be faulty fan motor of the condenser:)

Zyrofillica 1st Gear April 14, 2010 Share April 14, 2010 might wanna check ur aircon clutch. Same problem for me, car moving no problem very very cold aircon. Once stuck in jam or idling for too long, aircon stops working and blows hot air. If parked for short while and come back while engine is still warm/hot, aircon does not work. only if car left overnight or long time and engine has cooled, aircon works on startup. Mech diagnosed aircon clutch overheating. reconditioned unit is around 300+ for my model. looks like 5th year of car ownership all the problem really start lol~
Yattokame 4th Gear April 14, 2010 Share April 14, 2010 Mine was a simple case of weak battery when driving, aircon cold. Else, it's hot.
Zeee Neutral Newbie April 14, 2010 Share April 14, 2010 what about this: normal city & expressway driving in singapore, air cond is cool. however, at extended period of time travelling on m'sia north-south highway at a constant 150 kph, air cond blows hot air..., but when slowed down to 80-90 kph, it blows cool air. could it be air cond thermostat issue, or something else? Mustank Hypersonic April 14, 2010 Share April 14, 2010 yours sound like some aircon man exam question anyhow piang answer: compressor should be working since city and sg higyway driving got cold air fan should be working if stationary got cold air belt running the compressor should be ok because city and sg higyway driving got cold air and stationary got cold air guess: maybe conti car, got heater one. car going at 150 kph, maybe radiator water too hot liao. all the heat transferred to the heater. need to re-route radiator water to bypass heater. maybe aircon pipe got no heat shield. Contax 1st Gear April 14, 2010 Share April 14, 2010 the last time I drove to penang , 4 hours into the journey , the aircon start to emit hot air and 'spitting' water out from the vent. Realise after a while that I have read somewhere that this is call "aircon freeze" , switch off the aircon and continue driving and everything back to normal after an hour when I switch it back on. York Clutched April 14, 2010 Share April 14, 2010 could be ur air cond compressor clutch assembly magnet boh lart liao...modern aircon tech will tell u to change the compressor.....if u can meet an old bird aircon mech...he will knock the front metal plate to force the pulley nearer for better contact it 'cluck' again when engine idling.... will last for a couple of months more. Tohto Hypersonic April 14, 2010 Share April 14, 2010 (edited) what about this: normal city & expressway driving in singapore, air cond is cool. however, at extended period of time travelling on m'sia north-south highway at a constant 150 kph, air cond blows hot air..., but when slowed down to 80-90 kph, it blows cool air. could it be air cond thermostat issue, or something else? My previous ride had this problem also. Switch off aircon driving for 10mins and aircon back to normal. But it will become hot again after another hour of high speed driving. At rest area, open the bonnet and check and saw the aircon piping with froze.. Send to ComfortDegro and they can't find the cause.
