Hi all

I am driving a perodua viva... suppose to buy kelisa but my parents make me upgrade hahaha..

The car is similar to Kelisa just that its much bigger and Kelisa is cuter... very easy to handle, it handles well for point A and B car... the manual for Kelisa has powerful pick up and cos the car is small and light so pick up no problem, just that if you want to travel long distance of cos will lose to many cars on the road cos its only 1 litre...

IMHO, if you intend to own one of the car and going to msia for a holiday, that driving both the Kelisa or the Viva above 130km/h is strictly not advisable though we hear of people who do 140-145, but seriously how much is your life worth to you? Of cos you can ask some of the owners and they will tell you that they clock 130-150 with no problems... Sure, of cos there are those who dare go the difference :) but my question, how much is your life worth?

IMHO 110km/h is still comfortable and if you need to overtake or run abit to catch up with your friend's car you can move to 120-130 (overtaking)... other than that, i feel that always be safe and go slow, esp on msia highway.... its not about you bang people, but sometimes its people bang you, or suddenly some freakish thing happen, then seriously, how much is your life worth to you? You read newspapers you know, like the family that drove a Grandis, freak accident happen, only the baby survived.... Grandis is a good car, much heavier and cost more etc... so do the math...

:) the viva feels more stable than the Kelisa at 110, to me la, to me.... :) cos I tested the kelisa at very high speed can shake like siao.. but some modd can be done like installing strut bars, lowering the springs, change suspension etc to have better performance and to do high speed at more comfortable level... but stock mode, try not to over do it in terms of speed etc...

Kelisa go for the manual, you will LOVE it if you the sprint.. but if you want a comfortable ride to bring you from point A to B, and occassion going up to segamat for durian, or a family getaway in KL or a short trip to malacca for some food and to relax, go for the auto.... If you need a slightly bigger car then go for the Viva but it cost more, the Viva auto handles better than the manual, I feel la... Kenari is good if you have a family and you need space... and the pricing of the Kenari is in between... Myvi is good, but its 1.3 and the pricing abit too high to buy so its a good car but dollar and sense might not be too friendly..

The good thing about these cars:

1. Go msia lesser chances of people targetting your car to steal :)

2. Cheap and easy to maintain cos you can go msia and do servicing etc, sure got parts to replace; plus give yourself the excuse to go grocery shopping while you are there topping it off with seafood dinner :)

3. If you are OPC, go msia the people might not want to rob you cos they might think you no money :)

4. After Malacca, people see you driving a Perodua, they are more friendly to you on the road, but it does not apply to JB though... cos they attack SG cars

5. Its QUITE hard to get a speeding ticket for this car :)

All perodua owners are residing in the Kelisa forum so you might wanna check it out... do a google :)

Drove KELISA (manual) with full tank to KL and back, still had about 100km fuel left in the tank (no refilling along the way). But sometimes Kelisa unlocked when others lock/unlock their car nearby (Perocom said to isolate the remote-locking device). So no buying Kelisa second time for me (any body can go into unlocked car)

Myvi (manual) can overtake just like 1.4L engine cars, so adequate for occassional driving into West Malaysia. If need to drive there often, I believe 1.5L engine more relaxing for overtaking (to avoid convoy-driving fatigue)

Can share where to do such upgrading? Perocom said no way they can do it (can only isolated the remote system for me, then use mechanical key only)

Agreed with you

They failed to adjust handbrake in accoradance to the Owner Manual, and said their 'normal' engine oil needs replenishment after 5000km instead of 10,000km. My Myvi reaching 20,000km soon. Not sure I will go to them for their sub-standard servicing (they said to me: customer not allowed to be present while they carry out servicing (workmanship not presentable to customers?) Likely they can not correct it if they got it wrong the first time (so it would be fruitless for me to report the defective workmanship on the handbrake adjustment). I believe they replaced the spark plugs every 5000km for customers because they do not know how to service the spark plugs (no need to service within 20,000km if engine in order: my Kelisa spark plugs never serviced for more than 50,000km yet can get above 20km/l). How much expertise has some AD workshop got?

I was told other Authorised Distributors/Dealers also have the same problem (new luxurious cars caught fire/being towed)

My Suzuki 800 never sent for servicing before passing each VICOM inspection without a re-inspection

My Fiat Uno failed VICOM inspection the next day after servicing by former Massa Motor. Better luck going to any other non-AD workshops (told by former Massa Motor Service Manager that their servicing workmanship is not to roadworthiness level, so customers must specifiy if the car going for VICOM inspection next (I believe they outsourced for expertise upon receiving the alert. Subsequently it passed each inspection like the Suzuki without any AD servicing

Of course better Mechanics in any AD workshop likely to be proached soon. However, AD workshop always charge much higher prices for servicing/repairs since they lack the expertise/staff and need to outsource for it

During my NS days the Supplier's Foreman replaced new battery with another new battery when one of the battery cables was not tighten, for warranty period (he could not identify the loosen battery cable before him). If we wanted to cheat them, we just loosen battery cable for another new battery replacement?

hi bro

i think all my kelisa and viva friends will tell you to do in JB with us... sg is not cheap and percom do such a bad job.. i find it suspicious when they drive my car far away to service... i got other horror stories to share with you about my experience with them... they are so incompetent lor... i spend $140 and brought my car in for consultation they say nothing wrong went to autobacs and in five minutes they found the problem and settle on the spot for me... didnt cost me alot haha.. i loss faith in perocom liao...

anyway fyi their warranty is as good as dun have they will give you all kind of stupid excuse not to honour... they do wheel alignment for me machiam never do, cost me $60... go jb do RM20... perfect job... go perocom pay $140 for crap servicing... i go jb $140-$170RM for excellent quality... when you come jb service car you will see an increase in performance
