Choice of soccer boots

Hi all

Need some recommendations from you guys. I have tried looking at peninsula, queensway, could not find a decent pair of soccer boots.

I'm just a casual farrer park player, and my last two pairs, Umbros, each only lasted bout 3-4 months before the soles gave way.

Can I have recommendations for a good yet decently priced pair of soccer boots and where to get them?

My budget's hopefully below 100 for this new pair. But if the recommendation is about a pair of really good, long lasting pair, I would not mind spending a little more.

Thanks!

Bot mine from Sportslink, $40 for a pair of Adidas. Casual player like yourself. Last me 1 year plus. No complains.

If u cant get soccer boots at queenway and peninsular plaza ,then i don,t know where can u get as other places are selling more expensive...fyi sportlink also have shops at queenway too.

U can try weston warehouse at peninsular level 3 as there are selling most of the expensive soccer boots at a cheaper price ,u know soccer boots always come out newer model and there are selling those more than $250 price boot at a much reduced price now.

When buying soccer boot,u must get the correct size and fit, no such thing as buy half size bigger and wear extra thick sock...try the boot with soccer sock and made sure it fit nice...if u have wide feet, ask for those boots that suit u.

True. But I did check out that weston warehouse. Highly recommended by my friends. Got my 1st umbro from there. But somehow the lady attendant there has her usual arrogant attitude, did not bother much bout serving customers. Even asked my friend to fold up the jerseys after looking, when others were doing the same, and with more jerseys thrown about than him.

Anyway, they also did not have my size for many pairs which I chose, which is why I'm asking now for other possible locations to get from.

Ic. I've seen quite a few recommendations for puma too. Heard puma king's really good.

But wow, $40 for adidas? Thats quite a good price. Kinda like adidas. But the models I've seen so for just not wide enough for my feet, not saying that my feet so big la :D

Lolz, I only air my boots. Never washed them. The only time they get wet is if it rained and the ground is wet.

Seems like adidas is winning my confidence. [:p]

Yes. Puma King is good.

I used to play alot of soccer in the past. There is no perfect boots, depend on yr style of play and the contour of yr feet.

Puma king has a flat front toe, easy to chip the ball over. It is wide, good accuracy.

If possibel get a leather one. Synthetic leather+ rubber one not good one. too thick already.

I recommend lotto, durable and good.

bro TS. . . 3-4mths before it gives way??

i think its not the boots, but your style of play. . . [laugh] [laugh]

do you drag your feet deep in the ground when running or kicking cos i strongly feel boots can last you at least half a year. . .

anyway, i strongly recommend lotto, one of the lightest yet durable. . . been using it for like 15mths already and considering i play soccer every weekend, its kinda [thumbsup]

when choosing a pair of soccer boot i would recommend going for one, which the soles are both nailed and stitched-sewn. its more lasting that way. and frm what i see not many pairs of boots do that but i've long been a wearer of lotto boots and i used to play semi-pro a few yrs back and each lotto lasted me no less than 10 - 14months. and its very very comfy esp the kangaroo skin ones but thats a lil more costly. u are able to get cheaper ones between 50-80 bucks and i've been using one of those now for my casual weekend games. hope this will be of good use to u. cheers.

Erm, I definitely do not drag my feet while running, but you know, when sometimes playing high balls, I do dig into the ground a little. But also, I do not play high balls often, a simple low ball player.

Not sure if its the farrer park ground also, since its actually very well maintained.

you risk injuring your feet by digging into the ground....
