Hiphiphoray 6th Gear June 8, 2010 Share June 8, 2010 (edited) Marina Barrage is the best place. Easily 20-30 kites up there during a good windy day. Big open spaces with no trees around. But parking is very limited. You might need to park outside along the main road if you go in the afternoon/evening. Best time is to go on sunday early morning before 9am. Not too hot and still got ample parking lots. Edited June 8, 2010 by Hiphiphoray

Shorty Turbocharged June 8, 2010 Share June 8, 2010 west coast not too bad. but now a lot of ppl. n wif some inconsiderate ppl ard, u may jus end up wif a kite stuck at the trees. i went last wk...so my kite was already flying...den this middle aged couple...abt 20m behind me to the right. their kite jus started to fly. then it went left, crossing my string. if someone has the brains n consideration for others, they will move to the left n not cause their string to cross wif others. but these two morons jus cant b bothered. n...their kite being bigger den mine, caused my kite to drop. too fast for me to pull back...went straight to the trees! so...wherever u play...pls hv the "kite flying etiquette". hehehe
Panhard 1st Gear June 8, 2010 Author Share June 8, 2010 Sengkang, you can easily count more that 100 kites. my colleague also suggested sengkang field too... anyone knows the exact location, parking facilities, nearby refreshments, washrooms etc.... Kwchan 1st Gear June 8, 2010 Share June 8, 2010 Marina Barrage.. actually Marina Barrage is not a good place to fly because of turbulent ie. the wind will come from different directions so the kite will crash down when the direction change
Ben5266 Supercharged June 8, 2010 Share June 8, 2010 Tampines central, near bus interchange. Free parking.
Sg2303 2nd Gear June 8, 2010 Share June 8, 2010 If you want somewhere in the north, can go to the field near Singapore Sports School in Woodlands. Many people fly kites during weekends. No trees and strong wind.
Altivo 3rd Gear June 8, 2010 Share June 8, 2010 my colleague also suggested sengkang field too... anyone knows the exact location, parking facilities, nearby refreshments, washrooms etc.... It's the 2 fields in front of the swimming complex. Most people just park by the roadside The swimming complex has a macdonalds, 7-11 and a pub. Toilets are available at the community club. There is a "permanent" blue van that sells kite/accesories along the small road between the 2 fields. Another good place to fly is the big field at woodlands next to the Singapore Sports School. Altivo 3rd Gear June 8, 2010 Share June 8, 2010 actually Marina Barrage is not a good place to fly because of turbulent ie. the wind will come from different directions so the kite will crash down when the direction change agreed. Try not to fly at the open area next to the shelter/lift. The wind there is like very unpredictable. Instead, start at the field on the opposite end of the shelter which is nearer to MBS and slowly work your way back to the shelter. That's the approach most season kite flyers do. Toledo 1st Gear June 8, 2010 Share June 8, 2010 sengkang has a few convienent locations. i went to blk 128 punggol field walk. u can either park at the MCP or along the road (alot of ppl do that). there are 2 big fields for you to choose. nearby is the punggol plaza where u can go makan later. u can't miss the place. there are lots of kites in the sky acting as "markers" !!! http://www.streetdirectory.com/asia_travel...7200713928/l/
