very SAF... if all fails, just use a duct tape to stick 'em together

they use duct tape for back pack too?

There is a material called "speed tape" used for repairing small scratches etc. on aircraft exterior, as a quick fix (yup! does that make you feel worried??). This is to regain aerodynamic smoothness, in the interim, before all the scratches, dents, etc. are fixed during the next maintenance visit.

Not sure if this aluminium tape falls in that category! :D

According to the actual report, these tape are there to protect the aerodynamic sealant which are still wet.

There is no safety concern.

The three things sticking out behind the wings are sail fairing, they contain the rotary actuator for the trailing edge flap, they are not part of the engine.

Base on the registration B-XXXX. this is a China register aircraft. It looks like a B737 wing.

Is this a passenger plane seeing that it has 3 engines on each wing? Think most only have 2 or 1.

It's actually a "canoe" fairing [:)] . Maybe you mistook them for engine pylons, and so counted 3 engines.

The fairings cover all the jagged bits (here, it is probably the wing flap tracks and actuators) on the aircraft in order to make the body more aerodynamic, so that air flows smoothly and reduce drag and fuel consumption.

By the way, here is an aircraft with 3 engines on each wing (making a total of 6), that is the Russian-built Antonov-225 Mriya.

How about a total of 10 engines (champion!) - both jet and props - the Convair_B-36.

Neutral Newbie

I think that a special type of tape if not wrong is the 200 pound tape quite power normally use in air drop goods to secure the static line before it snap to prevent the line from bee hoon [laugh]

Dunno about the excuses they are giving citing "safety is not a concern" but seeing that just gives me the creeps!

Final Destination anyone?
