Summerset Resort at Rompin, good or bad?

Anyone stayed at this place in Rompin recently? Any comments?

I just went there recently in June for 4 days. Place is alright if you just want a getaway. Pool is ok and room is not bad too. Villa is spacious and comfortable.

 

Bad points? TV in room is unusable with only local channels at best. Nearest minimart is 20 min drive away. Place is pretty dead with few tourists. If you ask me, take ferry to Mersing or pulau Bersah better.

Decent enough. Beaches are desaru standard, but pretty deserted at times. Go for a package which includes spa/massage and unlimited use of recreation facilities (canoe, ATV, bicycle) if you can.

 

Oh yeah, bring repellant for the forest hikes.

As good as it gets - from memory, it tasted like any fare offered by any other beach side resort.

I stayed there for 3D2N during March School Holiday. The place is abit run down. Stayed in Junior Suite, not bad cos its balcony facing the South China Sea but the surrounding area has nothing to be proud off. If you intend to have a getaway with relax & calm surrounding you should try the Serai Beach & Golf Resort.Its about 4km nearer from summerset but need to travel along smaller road of the village. I went there for my lunch on my 2nd day stay in Summerset and I tot this place is slightly better than summerset though the resort & pool is smaller. The beach is whiter with a shaded field(casuarina trees) just before the shoreline.
