Best Holiday Destination

Hi guys, just fantasizing about taking a vacation amidst the busyness of work today.

Wonder if you could share the place where you had your best vacation and why it was special.

For me the best place I've been to for a holiday is a small village called Lauterburnnen in the Swiss alps. It's a bit off the main tourist town of Interlaken, so when I went a few years back, it was not very touristy, and not as crowded. There are lots of walking tracks you can take to the surrounding mountains, which is absolutely beautiful in the Swiss summer. The mountain air is fresh, and the people friendly. Wish I was there now.

Korea.

Although we had a lot of trouble conversing with the locals. English-speaking Koreans are so... rare.

Jeju island is good. Nice scenery.

If you are bringing kids along, can try the "Everland" (spelling could be wrong). It is similar to the Disneyland kind of stuff.

Go for the snow skii-ing. That is very fun and the view is very nice. [thumbsup]

Go Japan (Tokyo and Hokkaido). [thumbsup]

People are hospitable, food is good and your eyes are "opened" to "nice passing views" instantaneously. [laugh]

Got one more, Lotteworld. [sly]

I don't think there is any snow now though.. its summer period now. [dead] I remb when I was there in autum, the guys running the ski slope in Taebaek had their snow-creating machines running though the night to prepare for the next morning..

Damn bloody noisy. But it was fun the next day. [nod]
