Cootie-Monster Neutral Newbie July 20, 2010 Share July 20, 2010 Thanks to the flood, we now have this wildly optimistic and unsightly dike along Orchard Rd. Me thinks they should also lay some concertina and put in a GPMG. ↡ Advertisement

Akitsuki Neutral Newbie July 20, 2010 Share July 20, 2010 Nice... the person who thought of this idea probably has never done any entrenchment work. 1 line of sand bags? There's a gap between each sand bag.
Cootie-Monster Neutral Newbie July 20, 2010 Author Share July 20, 2010 (edited) I think this is an attempt to make a statement than truly trying to do anything. Alas, the statement they are trying to make is along the same lines as Cpt Miller shooting his pistol at the German Panzer. I note from the picture that their flood defence has open flanks. One can only pray the flood water is not SAF trained. Maybe Liat Towers can also rope in some little Dutch boys with big meaty fingers. SimonTan 2nd Gear July 20, 2010 Share July 20, 2010 I really hope this was the BEST idea that they can come up with! What a F.King joke. I laugh untill my stomach pain. This picture should be voted "Picture of the YEar Award"!!!
SimonTan 2nd Gear July 20, 2010 Share July 20, 2010 (edited) I hope this is not some brillient idea from the FT or scholar. That statement...Management has ordered another 100 sandbags......Give the management a tiger for effort in trying!! WTF!!! So it will be a permanet fixture? Just buy 50 packets of cement and one lot of the gray tiles. Create an additional 100mm high-step to the stairs. Problem solved! Tonyhawk 1st Gear July 20, 2010 Share July 20, 2010 LOL, 120 sand bags, and ordering another 100 more! gosh, what wonderful measures, did they also hire a consultant to tell them that?
Ericongy 3rd Gear July 20, 2010 Share July 20, 2010 i suppose this is a temporary measure with the long term view to built a dam.

Who knows, maybe someone may pick up on this and run along with it. A step better than kneel down, smiling like a donut as the gahbernment has its way with you. ↡ Advertisement
