Any honda fit owners or honda fit/jazz experts know how come there are honda fits with non-IDSI engines.

I thought Jazz comes with ivtec and fit comes with IDSI.

What's the main pros and cons of these 2 engines? I noe twin spark gives better combustion for fit, wat abt ivtec?

Anyone can shed some light?

Cheers

U talking abt the previous generation or the current generation? [confused]

Actually i'm referring to whichever generation, perhaps you can share some light on the evolution of these two engines?

But i saw one dealer selling a fit, manufactured yr 2007 with non-idsi engine, but i'm not sure if it's vtec or -ivtec engine that's inside.

Cheers

No more jazz/fit with iDSI engines.

phased out already.

Newer jazz/fit all on iVTEC.

iDSI has more torque at lower speeds, more suitable for city driving. Uses less fuel. 8 spark plugs for better combustion.

iVTEC is can go faster at higher speeds, less torque, uses more fuel. 4 spark plugs.

Honda jazz/fit GD1 from year 2001-2008 (L13A IDSI SOHC engine)

Honda Fit GD3 from year 2002-2008 (L15A Vtec SOHC engine)

Honda Fit/Jazz from year 2008 till current is 1.3 & 1.5 Ivtec engine (GE6/8 respectively)

If the dealer is selling the non idsi engine..it sld be a 1.5vtec..if its auto version,it should comes with 7sp cvt paddle shift on the steering [;)]

fit with vtec engine is rare.. [:p] look at the fit logo at the rear.. its shall have a 'blue' dot (well, this can be changed also)

i think the steering wheel has 7speed steermatic... just like the prev. gen City...

if test drive...go past 3.5krpm... u will hear the engine come alive.. power surge...

engine bay shall have a vtec engine cover.. (but this can be fake also)

first batch of new gen fit shall be nov-dec 2007...

There's a tag at the engine bay... starting with L ....., check and tell us... :D
