Door lock mechanism

I encountered this problem just a few weeks ago. When i unlock my Superb doors, the front passenger door would not unlock on the first try. Only after i lock and unlock on the 2nd try, then the passenger door would unlock.

 

Any idea what is wrong here?

 

This doesn't happen all the time, but intermittently..

quick ! check the solenoid or change the lock pronto !! My A4 rear door had the same symptoms, also worked intermittently, then it stopped working ... Yours is the front door, more crucial.

Yup, that sounds like a soleniod issue alright....might want to change it or all at the same time. The front doors are a MUST.

hmmm ... i've been living with this for more than a year now. Mine is front passenger door ....

Sometimes, it is the door actuator which is either misaligned or the solenoid needs to be replaced.

 

Most car accessories shop or car key shops should be able to rectify this quite easily.

 

Not expensive job.

The locks on my Ford Laser is acting up...

front passenger side cannot be opened from inside &

rear right side cannot be opened from outside

 

Does anyone know the approximate repair costs, and

any workshops to recommend?

Am driving 9 yrs old Altis, my situation is same as Beanoyip... how difficult or easy to access

to the solenoid or acutator?? Any ideas roughly where r they located??

 

Thinking of diy if do-able..
