Tigerwoods Turbocharged August 6, 2010 Share August 6, 2010 lack of competition. Huh ?? This is totally, purely, absurdly a Cartel and the Garment is closing 1 button eye to it since 45 yrs ago. These days they use alot of gimmicks to camouflage the actual price like Credit card discounts/rebates/smart $ etc.. In Aussie, you have 4 Petrol stations smack in a T-Junction and all their display prices are different.

Pisces69 6th Gear August 6, 2010 Share August 6, 2010 What's the justification this time? Crude is still hovering at around $80-85USD but they are raising it close to $2/L which is equivalent to the price when crude was >$100 USD =============== National Day long weekend coming so they know many pple wil b driving around so its a good time to make more $$$. Thank u Caltex for the Nat Day "present". Anyway in SG, oil companies can suku suka raise prices. No need for crude prices to go up. They always have some good excuse like other overheads have gone up. Oil companies here can get away with this sort of thing cos they know gharmen give them full support. In fact it seems like gharmen is scared of them even. Imagine they all pull out & dont refine oil here. Overnight our Jurong Island refinery wil close shop. Another huge investment gone down the drain.
Pisces69 6th Gear August 6, 2010 Share August 6, 2010 Oh! I top up 50L this morning at 9:10am. O Yeah... I am $1.50 richer today. But, will be $1.50 poorer every week from today! ============= U save $1.50. Big deal. Look long term & that is peanuts compared to what u r losing. Pisces69 6th Gear August 6, 2010 Share August 6, 2010 UP ,up, up... How come ppl keep saying " whatever goes up will comes down" when things in SG are hardly this case... ============= Cos we have the very special, one & only P8P gharmen running the show. Pple r here to b milked for as much as possible. Dont complain if u r a part of the 66%.
Pisces69 6th Gear August 6, 2010 Share August 6, 2010 I am wondering why dont they increase S$1 and above since no one is allow to stop them. ============== Our "fathers" have found the painless way to milk the cow. Take too much all the time & the cow wil die. Milk only as much as the cow can tahan. It wil not b healthy & happy but at least it wont die. Once the cow dies, no more milk. Smaller "cuts" more often is less painful & cow can at least give milk for many years to come. They very good. Can think long term.
Pisces69 6th Gear August 6, 2010 Share August 6, 2010 but USD now $1.36 hor.... ============== EXACTLY. U have noticed something I have mentioned b4. Often when crude goes up, the USD has fallen. So in reality, the cost is about the same for us but many dont notice this. Afterall we pay for crude in USD.

5936 1st Gear August 7, 2010 Share August 7, 2010 Crude is traded at 3 months future projection. Today traded at, say USD$85, means 3 month down the road, buyer will pay this price for it. So it is not for 'today's price. So again, for any reason they want to increase, we got no say, like meat on the chopping board. even CASE kenah from it. The oil fellows are bul _ ies. Pisces69 6th Gear August 7, 2010 Share August 7, 2010 (edited) In many countries which I have been to, it seemed that our petrol prices over here are one of the most expensive. ============= My main grouse is no transparent prices. How can all our petrol companies have the same costs at the same times? Like what was said, other countries all petrol companies or stations even have different prices. In US or other developed countries, they wil b charged under the anti-competition laws. Here it goes on without so much as a squeak from mouse gharmen. That tells a story already.
