The details of the August 2010 second open bidding exercise for Certificates of Entitlement (COEs) are as follows:

 

Tender opens: Monday, 16 August 2010, 12 noon

 

Tender closes: Wednesday, 18 August 2010, 4.00 pm

 

Tender results: Wednesday, 18 August 2010

The total quota available for this tender is 1,944 for the following vehicle categories:

 

NON-TRANSFERABLE CATEGORIES:

 

Category A : Cars (1,600cc and below) & taxis 606

 

Category B : Cars (1,601cc and above) 482

 

Category D : Motorcycles 335

 

TRANSFERABLE CATEGORIES:

 

Category C : Goods Vehicles and Buses 206

 

Category E : Open Category 315

Don't think it'll stay like this tomorrow morning though ....but maybe I'll just try my luck and bid for a Cat B COE. Who knows, with the YOG and people flocking to RWS and MBS, car salespeople losing their jobs etc, might just get a Cat B for below S$20k...just in time for the new ride that's on the way! Wish me luck guys!

Thanks ! Well, haven't decided yet on the amount. But since its "live" bidding, at least I will hopefully stand a fair chance. Got my maximum bid set though. If the bids go beyond that limit, well, then I'll try again. I'm not in a major hurry as I was told my car would only come first quarter next year (thats what the AD said)..but I reckon if I secured a COE, I could pressurise them for an early delivery since the delivery schedule was based on availability of COEs and not the cars themselves!
