Alcohol Ads allowed but Tobacco Ads not

Alcoholism is much more a social bane than smoking.

Yet alcohol ads are everywhere and tobacco ads are banned...

Just wondering what screwed logic we are blindly following.

I'm not saying that we should promote smoking.

Rather, I'm saying that we should also not promote drinking

Tobacco, no matter how small amount, will be harmful..

Alcohol, in minute amounts, are actually good for the body...

Have you heard of drink driving or drunken man beating wife and children?

Or ppl under alcohol influence messing up

Tobacco smoking confirm wont cause a person to lose his senses.

so far no one can logically explain why ban on tobacco ads and not alcohol ads.

since both substances harm the body of the user and also others although in varying degrees

Other than us trying to be "First world" country and to keep up with the other countries. (something we do a lot)

there is no other reason.

otherwise both types of ads should be banned.

Allow me my 2 cents.

You heard of the tobacco lobby. Have you heard of an alcohol lobby?

It is now almost an open secret that Tobacco giants once bankrolled scientists and researchers to come up with skewed findings that contradict notions that tobacco indulgence is bad for health. That to me is tantamount to the wanton and deliberate intent to misinform the general public. That being said, this act alone can be construed to be subversive. That is, if left unchecked, it could potentially cause social mayhem in theory. I am just saying there is this possibility. Well, you get uneasy when too much power is wrested in the hands of a few corporate giants.

Thus the draconian measures and the cavalier attitude towards tobacco.
