Whats Wrong With Singapore MRT Stations???

I just wonder if SG MRT stations are haunted or something. We need to build doors in order to prevent people from falling onto the tracks...

By contrast, the wrold biggest New York Subway (by number of stations) don't even have any doors for their platforms. Furthermore, you can see their yellow line is right the width of 2 tiles right the at edge.

So something wrong with the design of ours stations or something wrong with our people or what? Maybe people cannot see the yellow line because its too narrow?

There are just people who love to do copycat. Hopefully there is no need for the Garment cover up the surrounding seas and put safety nets below all high rise buildings to take care of all those with faulty CPU

if you board up the MRT stations, there might even be a rise in highrise "accidents"..you can't really stop pple from seeking escapism..there are simply too many ways to "go". when these pple are trying to do is to create attention and to "drag others down with them".

Nothing is wrong. Everytime an accident happens the general public pressure SMRT to build barriers. As with most Singaporeans, laid the fault with authorities rather than those at fault.

Actually NYC subway has many accidents with people falling off the track... It's either the authority respond to improeve the safety or can totally ignore it.

I think the barrier is good too. Just that it makes the station feels hotter especially when it's crowded. New York may not have it but large part of Tokyo subways does have such barriers.

Just stay away from the edge until the train stops for boarding to prevent being accidentally pushed onto the track. Basic urban jungle survival skill, which includes look at oncoming traffic when crossing the road.

yeah but at least supermen will not make you late for work/school. you might stare but you'll still catch the next bus.

mrt jumpers, on the other hand....

singaporeans asking for barriers are not concerned about those sad souls, its more about their own inconveniences. sad fact.
