Cannot be for daily use? Any indicative cost for overhaul for such rides?

If you have time to send in your Car to Workshop...then can be your ''Daily'' Use.

Overhaul cost is the same for any car. Doesn’t mean a classic plate you can spend less. Unless you lower your standards a lot. The benefit is that is can sit around to wait for parts. You can even ship it off to Malaysia or Thailand for long stay to get it fix for much cheaper.

W123. rust rust rust. mechanicals somewhat solid. but certain parts are hard to come by now.

in any case why a classic. if you want something to own to have some fun occasionally, then a w123 isnt the right car. almost zero fun to drive. unless you like to hear and feel the chunk when closing the doors, thats about it.

was a 2nd owner of a classic plate 37year old 1977 W123 manual for about 1.5years. got bored after a while and there was not joy to be found tooling around. would prefer a convertible or something impractical or more rare to keep.

Seriously ,if u used\own  a car for a certain stretch of time,u WILL get Bored .

Dats why I am Lucky to always ,to have a couple.

Didn’t u do some research  prior to buying the 123 & starts Rant abt it’s short coming Now.

Rust is nvr really an issue ,in a Tropical climate like our,Mat Saleh country ,Yes.

So whatever   U have   encountered , u can sort it out Provided there’s LOVE  there.

But looks like ,u are into convertible  &  more Rare stuff as u have mentioned But NOT the Clunk when closing the door.

Hope in the Future ,u noes exactly what u are looking for ?

Lao pok Mercs is NOT for everybody.
