CX7 is bigger. Tiguan is new and supposedly more fuel efficient. I'll choose the CX7 for the fierce look [thumbsup]

Friend of mine got the Tiguan new when COE was 5K. Within 5 months it went back to VW no less than 6 times for something amiss in the gearbox. Car is older now but she is already looking at something else.

Another friend driving the CX7. Its abt 2 years old. So far he hasn't gone back to agent except for the servicing.

Just feedback from 2 of my friends, I have no vested interests with VW or Mazda.

see another victim from VW gearbox [:p]

want better FC , problematic gearbox &MU ..etc and not really good service centre ( base on complains from other sites) , then take tiguan ...if want reliable , yet high fc consumption , then take mazda cx7

Tiguan using the 7DSG problematic gear?

Fortunately no.

Tiguan is using another type of 7 speed gearbox unlike the infamous "dry" DQ 250 version which is in all 1.4l VW cars.

There has not been many complaints about the Tiguan "wet" gearboxes unlike the "dry" version.
