I realise they do hydrocarbon exhaust test on random cars. 

Finally pass without having to change/repair anything.

This failure falls under what category? I was looking at One motoring vehicle mods list and I don't see anything specifically related to tail lights, except for tinting/masking.

hmm so aftermarket tail lights design is allowed as long as brake lights are red, signals are orange, and reverse is white?

Sometimes when the exact fit tailslight from one model higher is fitted , it also fail .

Went to STA Sin Ming. They were very nice, allowing me to drive my own car - said they usually permit supercars to be driven by their owners. Fuss free, passed without issues. Highly recommended.

Correct, now very strict.

If the car come originally with halogen bulb and you upgrade to LED from facelift or newer model will also fail.

I think some of the EVO10 update with original new lancer LED tails also failed.

some others jokers (me) tail light broken until like ww3 don’t want fix

Yes always had a good experience at STA sin Ming. Was there at 6pm and by 610pm, drove off with a pass cert. 1st time ever that I have done an inspection that quick.
