R32 4th Gear June 5, 2022 Share June 5, 2022 I rather fancied getting Wireless CarPlay for my car, and had been using an older iPhone that was permanently wired to the smartphone socket of the car that connected to my phone's hotspot. It was a little finicky to say the least. Sometimes I needed to manually connect the phone, other times I needed to reset apps. In the end, I took a bit of a risk and bought the CarLinKit 3.0, risk, because there wasn't videos on the internet that showed it would work with Mazda. Anyway: ↡ Advertisement

Blitz74 1st Gear June 6, 2022 Share June 6, 2022 @Ang88 Hi everyone! Just took over a 2019 (FL) standard mazda 6 few days ago. A few questions to check with the lao jiao here! 1) where can grab a copy of the servicing schedule. Like 90k mus change what parts and etc. No idea. Maybe half of us go to KHY MOTORS @ SIN MING after our free servicing. 2) im using the aircon 16 or 17 degree during day time and night time 21 - 23. Fan speed is usually 3 quarter. I guess this is not normal Mine set to 21 degrees and using 3 bars during day and 2 bars at night. I actually went for my first servicing at KHY Motors about 2 months back and I noticed that the aircon seems cooler now. Don't remember him doing anythink to air-con except changed air-con filter (maybe u can try) I used to be using 3 bars at night but now 2 bars is ok.... 3) the car only is android auto compatible if u see a white icon beside the usb port at the center console right? Plug in and you will now. Mine came with CarPlay when i bought it so it should be able to work with Android. Some actually went to install an Andriod model only so the only way to know is to plug into an iphone to see if it works. 4) the car has a 3 +2 warranty. I tried to bring in to leng kee mazda to take a look at the aircon. But they mention have to charge me 70 + to 200 + diagnostic fee to check despite the warranty. This is their usual practice? Cause my previous cars with warranty they will just check and change if anything wrong. No idea, didnt buy the + 2 warranty bcos most says KHY should be able to fix the issues for much lesser and the +2 years has some exclusions. 5) any recommended workshop in jb for mazda? No idea, havent been into JB since start of COVID-19. Appreciate all inputs. Thanks

alex976 5th Gear June 12, 2022 Share June 12, 2022 Any bros or sisters out there managed to improve the sound proofing of Mazda 6. please share what you have done. Thanks lots
R32 4th Gear June 23, 2022 Share June 23, 2022 So an update for CarLinKit - it doesn't like heat, and will stutter and eventually crash. I learned this putting it in the centre console bin and covering it with stuff. So now I have it laid on top but still in the bin, and its a little happier.
vincentk8 Neutral Newbie July 2, 2022 Share July 2, 2022 I just upgrade to a 2020 Mazda 6 2.0 Executive Sedan last week from Mazda 3 B.M and checking in this forum to understand more about the Mazda 6. 1) I realize the car aircon is quite weak during the day and I am wondering if this is normal? 2) And since the car is still under warranty, what are the common things that spoil easily and must try to get it change while it still under warranty? 3) Just realize the apply carplay is plug in and beside what bro R32 recommend CarLinKit to do wireless carplay and other device to do that? 4) I realize to do a map update it cost some $300+ for 3 years of subscription, is there anyway to get around this? Thank you all.

Thank you all. 1) My SE said to set it to 22 degrees if you expect 24 degrees. Try that. 2) Nothing much except the front end roll bar links that creak once when leaving your MSCP or when they’re wet. 3) An update on the CarLinKit situation. I found that it was Waze that was a resource hog and buffering the device out. It’s better if I use Apple or Google Maps. 4) You get one free map update from new. Otherwise once you’re on CarPlay or Android Auto, the onboard maps are pretty irrelevant

Thank you all. Congrats on the new ride. 1. Not sure why but new Mazdas need to set air con much lower as compared to BM/BN Mazda3. Just set it to 2-3 degrees lower than what you’re used to and it should work. 2. The usual suspects, side mirrors auto close motor, control arm bushings.. You can always sent it back 6 months prior warranty ends for them to have a thorough check, they did so for my previous ride 3. I’d recommend sticking to wired CarPlay/Android Auto if it isnt wireless from factory.. too much hassle to convert, results may not be as good and also uses much more phone battery 4. The only good thing about the built-in maps are the speed limit information and integration with the HUD. Otherwise, CarPlay/AA is much more reliable with live traffic info. The last I tried a few years back, no way to get around having to pay for the map updates
