10 mins ago i came back from a work shop.

I saw the workshop guy instead of "slam" close my bonnet, he press it down to close my bonnet in lock position.

AND THEN WTF SMLJ MY NEW BONNET NOW GOT 3 dents at the area he press.

Who experience this?! or is it just my bonnet material is too "soft" ?!

And these s--t make me lose my sleep.

He must have bionic hands!

But come to think of it - my car's bonnet is ultra light but not soft. Yet to give it a try, but if I were to drop it I doubt it would actually close.

I've been pushing it shut since day one and haven't noticed dents, or maybe I should have a closer look now that I've read this - eeks!

Turbocharged

no need to slam down, just release your hand from like 20cm n the gravity will do the work nicely. shouldnt close n press down either, confirm will get dents [sweatdrop]

I don't think the dents is by the workshop guy , only if he is as fit as Arnold Schwarzenegger

I let gravity close the bonnet knowing pushing might cause dent since day 1, 5 yrs ago [cool]

The workshop guy hand so strong?! Can dent your car bonnet?! [shocked] But if u confirmed the dent was caused by them, u shld "confront" them when u collect the car. [rolleyes]

I have one friend when he sent his car for servicing, he checked before and after. And he found out a slight dent on his bonnet of his car, and the workshop "pacify" him by fixing the dent and spraying the whole bonnet for him.

the right way to close the bonnet is to drop it at a certain height and let gravity do the work....

pressing down the bonnet to close will cause dents...

Hi TS, I usually close bonnets the way your workshop guy does.. No issues so far..

Right time wrong places [laugh] when using the press method but also depend

what the car make there certain area you can't press otherwise the "dent" will show as it very soft.

Porsche bonnets are light when you drop, its only have "clock" sound, but its not shut. You still must push downwards lightly.

Depending on make/model, most of the time I'll just drop and let it secure itself.
