Planned to drive to BP this weekend. Which hotel is the best there?

I would think is Katrina Hotel. I think its the only hotel there with a swimming pool........

But location wise it is a bit far from the old town.

I think it should be that area whereby the famous Ah See wanton mee is.... which is beside the OCBC Bank. The shophouses there all look very old, so I guess it is the "old town". Further down the street is the river, and there is a Glutton Square hawker centre....

The Pelican is a decent hotel, relatively new furnishing, private carpark, and conveniently located in the town center.

Pretty laid-back place though, nothing much (or nothing really) going on there, and the food are nothing out of the ordinary.

I just want a short get away from the crowd here.

Ok.. hawker fare at the 72 food court in the middle of the town isn't too bad, and nearby are some 'bistro' where the local yuppies chill out.

Check out the casablanca, and if you do get lonely there is the joint just beside the Pelican :D

If that is what you want, then BP is a place for you.

I even went to BP Mall (suppose to be their newest mall) on a Sat afternoon, and it was very quiet, not much people, all shops were opened, but it is a very big shopping mall....free parking.

Hi,

Which hotel in Batu Pahat is close to the "touch fish" temple, ship seafood restuarant and has makan outside its hotel? And also indoor parking?

How is the pasar malam in Batu Pahat? Beside the above temple and water park, is there any other attraction to go?

Thanks.

had breakfast in JB area and head toward NS Highway.

Exit Senedak to join back Route 5

didn't use Pekan Nanas way as travelled thru many times.

Reached Benut

See look , see look at the market stalls along the road.

Not in rush, feel like stopping, stop.

At Renggit bot a small toy for my grand.

Had intended to go to Lovers Bridge but missed the turn,

The deserts were v gd to my other-half's taste that we had two rounds

even tho the main meal was already v filling.

Checked in Hotel

After a short rest set off to Gersik Hot Spring

What a disappointment, it was closed till 26 Nov18.

So turned back without the hot sulfur water.

Dinner at Jln Pengkai.

5 pm, not many stalls were open.

Chicken Rice Stall with small portion of different vegs.

Then to Roast meat stall for just the Xio Bak.

Diagonally opposite B & S Boutique Hotel, is a stall selling Fish soup.

It's 7 pm. Wanted to get a bowl to savor, but had to wait approx half hr,

we gave it a miss. Too popular.

Drove to BP Mall, saw a toy shop at Level 2.

Got a set of wooden 25 hole shape intelligence box RM80,

much cheaper than those made of plastic available in S'pore.

Next day, had  hotel provided bf.

Drove around, walk around the town

Jln Rugayah

Jln Abu Bakar

Jln Soga

Jln Jenang. . . some name  recalled

Close to noon

ate Ah See Wanton Noodle. Wifey a noodle girl felt our Spore std better.

Near Swee Kee ( turtle soup shop) is a cleaner 'coffeeshop'

with variety of local food

After filling our stomach, drove to Tasik Y to see look.

Nice playground for those with kids.

Walked one round and that's the start of our way back home.

O, there were fruits stalls along the way to Tasik, we had coconuts

At Ayer Hitam to buy tit bits.

Was told that stalls in the section along the roadside will be relocated

come July 2019 to near the bus Terminal, a km away.
