It will not be worth your while to charter a car just for two. Suggest you either join the local tours there (Check with your hotel reception) or travel by train and bus.

Better think again before buying. Usage in Singapore quite troublesome because equipment there is 110 volts. Singapore voltage range from 220 - 240 volts unless the equipment comes with both voltage and a selector.

 

They have 220V equipment available when asked. I've bought many appliances with no issues.

Still best by train and bus, Free & Easy. I did one 3 years ago, for 8 pax. I believe that was the smallest vehicle. (10+driver)

Not difficult and you do as you please. With driver, it'll be 8am-8pm, if they follow along, food and lodging will be on you.

Yup, have to check on the voltage thing. But most of the adapters are for 110 to 240V. I bought Sony camera from Taiwan and Clevo laptop from Taiwan before. Clevo is available in SG as Prestigo. Much much cheaper to get from Taiwan.

For a 9-seater VW Transporter, it cost NT7000 per day, all in for the car/driver to follow you around. Sedan sould be slightly cheaper only.

 

For 2 couples, just take train and get local taxi to bring you around.
