due to the 3 days of non stop rain, i think the crowd has been giving chinatown a miss. the weekends are the days where they can make the most profits, but i think its not going to be good for them this year

How to make loss?

When they make tons of money...they still say break-even only.

Each year the rental/bidings for those stalls gets higher n higher.

Don't need to worry.....they are not stupid.

Their profit margin super duper high.

I wish the rain non stop!

There will be lots of goodies to buy cheaply on Wednesday night!

on top of that, many neighbourhoods are also having their own cny fair.

Save the trouble of searching for parking and time on travelling.

Other than soaking in the festive mood, no other reasons to go down Chinatown.

I was there yesterday nite with wifey. Yes i would say the crowds are not as bustling as previous years. Furthermore i notice roughly 80% non local. Tourists or FT i cant tell the apart. On the stalls front kind of dissapointed with not much of varieties. Seem like around 40% stalls selling those taiwan mui chi and the rests selling those usual cny stuffs and goodies. I won't be making another trip down as i reckon our neighbourhood aunty lucy hold more varieties under a better cny atmosphere. [laugh]

Not all store holders set up store there to make money. Some do it for fun, even at a loss. [cool]

Yeah...when sexy girls bend down in front of the stalls, picking and choosing the muah chi.

The stall owner already recover his day rental Liao.

Can see down blouse, money well spent for the stall owners.
