If they never, report to MDA. They will follow up with at least a warning. At least this way they're more likely to cease annoying people who requested to be on their don not call list.

When it was by fax, there used to be this company that kept faxing my old company. Requested to be taken off their list many times to no avail so I sent them an invoice for the paper used. It stopped after [laugh]

Cool... our gahment is finally doing something to curb mobile SPAMs.

Just heard on radio that they are going to do something about unethical companies who harvest our personal particulars through channels like contests, and then resell to other companies.

Can't find the report on CNA though.

Hmm... after what KB27 said, I think its time we lobby for a national no phone spam list.

the caller at the other end usually keep quiet.... knn bo ji type.. just onli wanna hit quota...dun even bother to talk....

Maybe to take revenge on recalcitrant property agent spammers, we should call them and make appointments to view different properties.

Call from phone with a throwaway top-up card of course !

This is the reply from IDA. Pretty useless to curb spam actually.

We would like to explain that, as the regulator of the telecom industry, IDA regulates the behaviour of the telecom service providers. IDA, however, does not regulate the end users of telecom services, including those who use SMS to legitimately promote or market their services, or send unsolicited SMSes.

Regarding the issue of unsolicited SMSes received from other end users, we would like to share that the sending of bulk unsolicited commercial SMSes in Singapore is governed by the Spam Control Act ("Act"). While the Act does not outlaw the sending of such messages, there are certain requirements that senders need to comply with. This includes the need for such messages to include an

Reply from IDA. Non-compliance with the Spam Act's requirement is not a criminal offence.

I wonder why they implement the Act in the first place when they have no intention to prosecute offenders.

Neutral Newbie

What I do these days is to forward the spam sms to the contact number listed in the spam. If everyone starts doing that, the spammer/person using the spam service will realise how much they are inconveniencing others.
