(edited)

I go to these 3, in no order of preference:

1. Kian Teong Auto - Sin Ming - usually for my Conti cars

2. Harmony Motors - Tuas - for Jap/Korean cars

3. Hi-mec Auto - Bt Merah - for Jap/Korean cars

Just Google their names and you will get their website/address.

Any advice on the below issues...

Went MTR for a routine servicing today and after checks the tech told me no faulty codes was found so car good to go. After driving out for lunch and start driving hm the car went dead... no power and can't drive no more.

Tow back MTR and the tech try scan and told me multiple fault codes and he told me mechatronics damage need change. He then quote me $3.9k for the replacement.

I call another workshop and did a compare of price they quote me $2k plus... and I remember my friends Jetta changed his mechatronics not Long ago at vag was $2.5k...

I am driving a golf sport 1.4 tsi mark6....

Hi, I encountered MU failure last Thur and sent to VW service centre for diagnostic and on saturday, they decided to perform the MU replacement at no cost to me.

Was quoted by VW on friday for less than $2.1k for the MU alone.

Try talk to them nicely and see if they can help you ur fren's Polo 1.4 anot.

Cheers!

Need to check this out with VW owners.

You may have heard that SEAT is making a comeback to S'pore last Saturday.

As SEAT cars are using VW DSG gearbox, need to find out how reliable is the DSG gearbox.

Heard that the 7-speed DSG dry clutch has many issues.

Less issues with the 6-speed DSG.

Can anyone confirm this?

Seems you only read one thread.

Suggest you use the search function and be overwhelm

Wah piang eh, you are right, super scary man!

Seems that VW DSG is prone to gearbox failures.

Then how come still got so many ppl buying VW?

My neighbor also bought a Passat, not sure if he has any problems yet.

My colleague bought Tiguan and complaining about long lead time for booking a routine service.

Like that how to buy a SEAT?

Its is basically a re-badged VW with a different shell.
