This can only mean that SG inflation will continues to rise and seem that the trend shall evolves onto next quarter. Everything nowaday is so expensive and wonder if anyone is actually looking into these high cost, mainly hitting those companies looking to renew their fleet of commercial vehicles. [furious]

Taxi should not be put under Cat A and these statistics reflect poorly on the actual demand of bigger public, as Taxi are for public transportation which generate income and these vehicles are owned by bigger and stronger MNC which has the capacity and means to bid at higher price to outdo the general public/AD/PI to achieve their target.

how u know there was revision? u mean the number of bids was constant but the price went higher?

The no. of bidder didn't goes up but the COE price went up. Only one explanation...revision of the bid.

Please let us have your suggestion ... so we should put taxi under CAT B or Open CAT ? Or shoud we create a different cat for taxi ? Anyway, the total numbers of COE is likely going to be the same. So if we transfer the allocation for CAT A, CAR B and Open CAT to a special TAXI CAT, it will mean the allocation for the others will be cut as well which may result in higher COE as well.

I agree with what u are saying but I do not have any idea on how to solve the the Taxi/CAT A issue.

Taxi should certainly have own quota. This should be based not on vehicle growth, but on a function of public transport usage, population and taxi usage. Am sure the scholars could come up with a system based on existing information.

naturally, taxis deregistered go back into the pool as per normal cars. Should also depend on how many taxis are not rented in a given month.

If I may boldly propose that there are separate queue for Taxi and quota be separated from Cat A, say Cat F and there are a separate quota independent from Cat A. Since the Taxi engine capacity varies, LTA can derive them from individual Cat according to their engine cap, in short, the original quota for the public should not be touch. Taxi is mainly for public transportation and frankly, I do not know the current arrangement when SBS/SMRT get their COE for their buses or rather no need at all thru Cat C? <_<

Taxi should not have their own category.

As a company commissioned vehicle, they should put with the others in CAT C

Yah, this make sense too, but again, those powerful transportation companies which owned Taxi would then kill off SME looking to change their aging fleet, the price they bid, in order to secure their objective, is a total killer! [crazy]

Not logical either - "company" registered cars still compete in the relevant Cat A / Cat B (i.e: if my company buy a company car for me is in the respective cat for engine size)

On the other hand, used in the direct management of a business for profit, and is like a Charter bus (to a certain extent) it does make sense

Bro, tried searching using the company registered number but no match. Not too sure whether they registered using another name..

Can't verify..

Anyway was told the stock is only arriving next week so next bid still cannot get then I will go f them.

Neutral Newbie

U should go fark your SE big time ....... a lot will depends on whether your car is in Singapore yet. Some people can wait if the car has not arrive yet. Eg if u booked VW, no point in getting COE too early as you may have to wait a few months for the car to arrive.

However, if the car is in stock or arriving, u can get your car in days/weeks. My last two new cars, i got them between 1 to 2 months.

Did u book the 6-Speed SX or EX ? Check with the SE on whether the stock for your car has arrived.

I got my COE today although car is "expected" to arrive in August! The current March deliveries are also delay till May, I heard!

Maybe xiaobao booked his ride at a lower price than your friend! Xiaobao can actually check online whether the AD bid for him or not! Or the SE is smoking him!

Good for you bro.... VW has always been securing COE for customer first way before their car arrive....

Agree...just now while the COE bidding is going on....during the last 5mins, there is a sudden large increase of bidders... Suspect is the Taxi Coy...

That is precisely the reason why i asked xiaobao whether his car has arrived. He has replied that his car should arrive next week and i really do not see the reason why AD did not manage to get the COE for him. Your car is scheduled to arrive in Aug and you already got your COE and Xiaobao's car will arrive next week and he did not get his COE. Does not sound logical to me. Maybe XiaoBao's SE really jialat one ..... Not sure about the price, but my friends' SE advise not to ask for discount on the listed price but asked for Freebies instead. One other thing, my friend went for the ex stock unit and AD has to get COE for him if they want to get rid of the stock.

I think Xiao Bao go smoke by the SE already..... I agree with u totally Bro Civic6228, if the car is coming next week, the ADs shld have secure for him earlier and once his car is available and they can do the registration straight away....

How many company cars are there compared to the Taxi fleet ?

By leaving them in Cat A and jacking up prices,

buyers in this category are pushed to try for Cat B if the price difference is not to great.

Cat E also jumps as a result.
