I repaired a few alternators of my previous cars

Usual fault is intermittent or not charging.

You know it when the bettery sign literature up on the instrument panel

If the new replacement is 1k, this amount is really a bargain to me. And it is better than a second or recon, as you get back your original alternator with new consumable parts.

Hi @Str2

I m replying on your very old post, but somehow my problem seems to be exactly matching to yours. Only difference is I m driving manual transmission (Subaru WRX 2006). I have same whining issue and goes off when I put my foot on the gas pedal. Any idea on how did you fix the issue. Please help, this is really annoying. Already taken to different mechanics everybody has different opinion, but the issue wont go away.

Thank you.

Hello everyone,

i just bought a vw tiguan 2011, and im having the same issue as the post writer.

when in descent or when on highways and the car is moving, when i take my foot off the accelerator a whining noise comes up, and as soon as i press the gas pedal it disappears?

any suggestions?

@Str2 what turned out to be the problem?

thanks
