Just want to say, go to specialized workshop for repairs.

Don’t go to a general workshop, most of the time they will do a shitty job or outsource to specialized workshop. 🤣

For aircon, go to aircon workshop.

For gearbox, go to gearbox workshop.

For drive shaft, go to drive shaft workshop like Elite.

For alternator or starter, any recommendation? 😁

All these specialised WS don't apply to RadX...he goes to specialised showroom for a new car even when his car blew a 5A fuse or light bulb...😁

These WS don’t even have a chance to earn his full cash.

One small dent by inconsiderate driver after parking……change car! 🤣

For alternator and starter I go to desheng at ubi. But they mainly do rebuilds and not too good at removing from the car.

Then how you do it? Remove them at another workshop then send to desheng?

Yes this is the case for most ws that do alternator and starter, they very rarely do hands on for veh. Some of them dun even do diagnostic well.
And very rarely they serve walk in direct from drivers, most cases, they will repair or recon old / damage parts, and ws just bring damage parts to them for 1 to 1 exchange.

Most of them sell batteries also, and quite a number of them are also very good on wiring.

Serving and parts replacement mostly is not their forte.

Brought back the old one to recon. $60 if I didn’t forget. Bought a new one as my car was rare. No recon available

Lengthy info, thanks. 😁

I had good experience from there too, boss is a nice guy too.

From time to time, I will bend down with a torchlight to see if the boot covers are torn and if there are leaks. Turn the front wheels also can see.

And go replace before it got worse.

"From time to time"... if only everyone was like you eh... then we would not hear on the laylio "...vehicle breakdown along .... towards ...".

There would be no traffic jams due to a stalled/broken down vehicle on our expressways.

Lucky it wasn't me that sold @Beehive3783 his car.

Change his drive shaft and CV joint and autobox need autohaul.

:D

If you bought from my competitor please shout loud loud who he was.

Or if new car you had since day 1 can share how old and what model?

I buy one for my MIL.

I already owned the car for 4 years since buying it used at 10 years old.

Comparing to others who had major problems right after taking ownership, I consider myself fortunate.

Been using elite for over close to 18years. I think they are the only shop who can dismantle and replace cv joints. All other workshops replace whole driveshafts and send to the 2-3 shops around the island for replacement of cv joint. The refurb places do not do replacements.
elite also remove and rebuild rack. . Others just replace.

My experience was they swapped a set of refurbished driveshafts for me because they have stock on hand for my car. I suppose it is also to save time so I don't need to wait so long for them to replace the CV joints on my existing driveshafts.

It would cost more if I did it through a general workshop, so why not go to the specialist directly? :D

All cars after a number of years have to replace wear and tear items.

You buy a brand new car from day 1 you have to do it.

You buy a used car also have to do it.

Always budget 5-6k when buying a used car.

Don't buy a used car and have to change so many things and complain you bought a lemon.

People always change cars when they know a big repair is going to happen.

Car in prefect condition not many people will sell.
