Ole Sayang is not bad. I tried it once only as there are too many to choose from in Malacca. Parking is convenient, just behind the restaurant.

Malacca food really sucks.

Went to one Nonya restaurant that was featured in their Tourism Guide Book.

Their food really cannot make it.

The Asam Fish smell yak, not fresh at all and summore not cheap.

Their Famous Formosa Chicken Rick Balls sucks like hell.

Tasteless.

Any of our S'pore chicken rice stall will beat it hand down.

Their Friday nite Pasar Malam foodstalls all CMI.

they are not bad and not really over-rated.... had meals there when they first started many years ago, till now after moved into new location, more dishes and consistant standard.

Between the two, I would go for Beizhen.... food not bad, price as increased over the years but still reasonable for a restaurant standard.

so which one is the famous chicken rice stall?

There are 3 famous chicken rice stall at Jonker Street -

Restoran Famosa Chicken Rice Ball: http://www.melaka.net/famosa/

Chung Wah Chicken Rice Stall: http://www.onestopmalaysia.com/food-review...-rice-ball.html

Hoe Kee Chicken Rice Ball: http://www.vkeong.com/2009/food-drink/hoe-...-street-melaka/

I have tried all three, and I would recommend Chung Wah and Hoe Kee. Why not Restoran Famosa?

Well, went to try Restoran Famosa Chicken Rice Ball last week. The rice ball tasted sour, the chicken is tough and tasteless, the chilli is watery. We were the only customers inside. When we walked over to Hoe Kee and Chung Wah, there were more customers.

As for peranakan food, I would suggest Restoran Nyonya Makko or Cottage Spice at Taman Melaka Raya. They are just across each other along Jalan Merdeka. The standard for Ole Sayang has dropped as it has changed its chef.

Good Food in Malacca, Melaka

If you are looking for good food in Malacca (Melaka), below are the list of recommended places:

Capitol Satay Celup

GPS: N2.19548, E102.25252

Address: Capitol Satay Celup, 41, Lorong Bukit Cina, Melaka

Open at 5pm till last customer leaves

Comments: I've been to Capitol, Ban Lee Siang and McQuek Satay Celup. My vote goes to Capitol Satay Celup simply because the sauce taste more ummph. And after sitting down for while, you will get the jumbo prawn. Remember to peel off the shells before cooking it else it will take ages to cook.

Capitol is more expensive - 80 cents per stick but more varieties

Ban Lee Siang Satay Celup

GPS: N02 12.306 E102, 14.729 - this coordinate a bit misleading, but it will lead you to the Jalan Ong Kim Wee and the shop is on your left and not on your right as per the GPS coordinate. Weird. I got the coordinate from one of the blog. Forgot to record down the coordinate myself.

Cheaper, 50 - 60 cents per stick, less choices.
